Even when you win the league, you are going to have some performances you don't like, or where you don't play well. The time to do this kind of "We weren't good enough and the manager is crap" type thing is at the end of the season when we can take stock and do something about it.
Other teams are trying to win as well and some days they are going to get a bit of luck or raise their game to the point that they will beat or draw with us. Liverpool and United right now are far more in the "Not contenders" category than we are and I can't see any reason why Man City are supposedly looking better than us.
Chelsea are the form team right now, and if they keep it up they will win by a landslide, so I guess no one apart from them are a contender.
I don't buy this lack of progress thing. We are looking a lot better on the pitch than we have done in the past. Vincent Kompany remarked to the press the other day that he was more impressed with Arsenal than Chelsea. There are lots of signs that we have improved, not least of which that teams like Spurs and Man City are coming into The Emirates and defending, not even coming out to play against us like they used to.
Arsenal87 is entitled to his opinion, and any emotional response he wants to have, but I just don't think his analysis is correct. My own view is that we had a very disrupted pre-season with a lot of key players injured or missing and I think we are going to have to build up our performances as the year goes on. So far, I have seen a huge improvement in the side week on week, even if the results have been disappointing.
There is no evidence to support the assertion that Wenger should be got rid of, or that the team can't win the league.
As far as the jibes from Arsenal87, against fellow Arsenal fans about being happy with fourth place and the suchlike, shame on him. The reasons WUMs like Arsenal87 get bans is because you can't become a member of a community, such as a fanbase, by making an obvious effort to piss that community off, and for what reason? To make himself look better/bigger somehow?
Right now, with the start we have made, of our immediate rivals we are better than United and Liverpool, a shade worse than City and behind Chelsea. A normal response to this would be neutral, I'm not going to go out and tell anyone we will definitely win everything, that would be crazy, but pretending that we have no chance of winning anything and should be sacking our manager is equally f**ing bats**t nuts!
