We're not City or United with a SAF, big difference.

oh my God, when these type of arguments start being used you know it's hopeless. Yes because everything turns out like 1998 doesn't it, that's why we've gone 10 years without a league, what stopped us repeating the 1998 formula?

Based on all CURRENT-PRESENT DAY INDICATIONS, there is nothing to indicate we are any good to stay neck and neck with Chelski, or to claw back 9 pts on them while they drop 9 pts.

Just wait and see, I'm gonna say this now, and you can take it to the bank, come end season, we will be challengers for a top 4 spot, not the league title, take this to the BANK.

my attitude means f**s all, it's the manager and players that need to sort their attitude, which they haven't. f**ing OXO the player coming out yesterday with talking points like we won the game! He went on about how we're getting our fluency back bla bla bla lol what in the f**? We just failed to win AGAIN, at home AGAIN, and we're finding our fluency? We were shockingly bad in attack yesterday, if that's finding our fluency, then pineapples before you peal the skin off is nice to stick in your arse.

This is a funny thread just to sit back and read. Agree with posts on both sides. But most absurd comment so far I utterly disagree with is TT saying we're clearly improving massively week on week. Is this a man who actually watches us at all???

It's not s**t. He makes valid points time and time again, his delivery style is not the best, but most of his points about the flaws of our manager and team is valid. Like I said, if you do not like it, then you are free to leave, but clearly something is keeping you here, despite all your tedious complaints about this forum. Maybe, you like to swim in ****.

Are you saying that you Don't think Ozil and Wilshere have been better the last 2 games? Who do you think played worse against Spurs than against Aston Villa?

His constant whining about everyone who's not as enraged as him being the "rose tinted brigade" is "valid"?

Maybe. Do you enjoy posting here?

A87 is passionate about his team at least. Most here just accept the insane levels of mediocrity Wenger peddles week in week out. Oh, i've done 30 years of mediocrity so I am immune :p

I only say that because you clearly have talent oozing in that Arsenal team/squad but Wenger is so inept you will always remain forever fourth.

I don't think anyone played particularly brilliant in either game. But anyway, your precise comments were about onrunning improvement, not just the previous game to this game. This is what you put:
I haven't seen anything to suggest we look any better on the pitch that we have done in the past few seasons. In fact, in our 10 games so far this season we've been poor and slow than ever in each. The slowest football we've played. And I don't understand where on earth you could possibly have seen us improve week on week. We've played the same dour, slow football for 10 games in a row. No improvement whatsoever. No signs of getting back to how we used to attack.

Who do you support? I'm in the camp of thinking AW is not the man for us any more... hasn't been for a good long time. A manager stuck in the 90s and 00s who should have left himself there and called it a day a year or two ago at the very latest.

Hammer, I thought most here knew that. Well now you do too! And yes Wenger is not going to take you forward, but he will keep you around that 3rd/4th spot and give you year in year out CL football at least. He won't take you forward but he won't take you backwards I suppose.

I wonder whether you enjoy posting, or just enjoy posting as opposed to not having a forum at all (given your comment before).

Maybe you're right. This place is dead anyway except for a handful of people who, if we're honest, really shouldn't be here anyway.

It has been getting very quiet on the forum. I've tried to make threads to liven things up but there just seems to be far less activity.

Can someone please point where I'm wrong?

1 win in 6, 3 wins in 10= not good enough

2 wins out of 6 in the league= not good enough

2 big home important games (City, Spurs) and drawing both when we really should have won both= not good enough

Failing to beat a title rival at home, again in Mancity= not good enough

Failing to sign the players we clearly need, a world class proven striker, and a strong defensive midfielder= not good enough

We have the money available to strengthen our team now, so it can't be said oh we don't have money like before, we do, so again= not good enough

So with all these FACTS, where exactly have I gone wrong? Telling me it's early days, and we'll get better is not a proper counter argument, these are all hypotheticals, not actual facts, what I'm posting are facts, no opinions, but facts that can't be debated....Plus usually when you make hypotheticals, it's based on indications, so you have to basically give good reason to illustrate why we're supposedly going to get better and improve, and so ar there are no indications whatsoever to make such an argument that we will get better. Seriously, based on what exactly are there signs that we're going to get any better?

The fact is nearly EVERYBODY acknowledges we lack some key players as in a quality striker and a quality defensive midfielder, so how exactly are we supposed to improve with these glaring holes? It's just going to magically happen on it's own? Oh yeah we also lack at least one more quality CB.

This stage last season we had 15/18 points.

If you want to directly compare to last season, here we go:

    vs Palace (H) in 2013/14 season - W
    vs Palace (H) this season - W

    vs Everton (A) in 2013/14 season - L
    vs Everton (A) this season - D

    vs Cardiff (A) in 2013/14 season - W
vs Leicester (A) this season - D (both teams were promoted as champions so an adequate swap)

    vs City (H) in 2013/14 season - D
    vs City (H) this season - D

    vs Villa (A) in 2013/14 season - W
    vs Villa (A) this season - W

    vs Spurs (H) in 2013/14 season - W
    vs Spurs (H) this season - D

Against the same teams in 2013/14 - 13 points
    This season - 10 points

Statistically, we haven't improved. Despite a lot of money spent.

That's not an argument it's a fact. An 8 point difference at this point in the Season tells us NOTHING.

Don't get me wrong I'm not happy with our points total so far.. but things can change very quickly in football.
