It was "fan pressure" that got rid of The Needlers and brought us Lloyd, Wilby and Hateley. The "fans" then had to campaign against the regime they welcomed so warmly to be replaced by Hinchcliffe, Belton and Buchanan. We then had the stability of Adam Pearson but, as a businessman, he sold to Bartlett who left the club in the mess from which Dr. Allam rescued it. I see history repeating itself. "Fans" will get rid of Allam and welcome another asset stripper ... who rescues the club next time it faces a winding up order?

We could get someone like David Sullivan or David Gold who funds the club, supports the manager and respects the club's heritage enough not to change the name. Allam has been our best owner ever, it's only the name change bollocks that people oppose.

PLT often posts his hatred for AA Obi, maybe you should promote him? No? Thought not. Unfortunately he comes across as young and stupid, although that doesn't appear to have stopped Gretton from hitting the highs in the CTWD group. You never know PLT, there may be hope for you yet.

I don't understand your post. Are you addressing your questions to me, as an individual member of CTWD, or CTWD generally? If you clarify which I'll answer it.

CTWD are not in charge of what fans chant at Hull City games.

We encouraged fans to chant City Till I Die at 19.04, we are no longer doing so, what they do from now on is up to them, we can't dictate.

So you let loose a bull in a China shop and now you're walking away? CTWD should take responsibility for what they've started and take steps to reunite the fans.

Sigh.

I don't get this, do you really not see any reason why someone might have a problem with Allam?

Why doesn't CTWD produce a statement that, in the interest of fan unity and for the good of the club, appeals to those that chant CTID at 19:04 cease doing so?

Why would they do that? How would it benefit anyone for the fans to stop singing our loudest chant? What can possibly be wrong with singing City Til I Die? Would your rule only apply to home games since no one is offended by it at away games? The arrogance of these people telling the die hards what to do because they're wrongly offended by something is maddening. It's like one of those Daily Mail headlines about people being 'made' not to do certain stuff in case of offending muslims, except true. If these people really don't like the atmosphere created by the other fans, perhaps they should try and contribute to it in an alternative way.

If it offends you people singing a City song, that's your problem which you should look to resolve. No one else is at fault. I don't remember you being such a twat.

You don't want the fans re-united, you want that section to stop singing City Till I Die at 19:04.

correct me if I'm wrong, but there may be more important things in life.
mind you shallow ppl like you and PMt may not think so.
but hey thats your right to disagree.

By that logic, suffragettes shouldn't have campaigned for women's rights because a World War was on. I guess the Scottish referendum was pointless as well because ISIS and Ukraine are more 'important'.

Certainty?

Another 'canny mover' at the time waits for administration ,
takes the 10 point hit,
buy the club for a £1 ,
rebuilds & the rest is another (worse / better) history?

Hull City have had enough run ins with winding up orders. You only have to look at the way Leeds has fared under Bates ... and his strategies ... that we haven't ended up with someone like Bates owning the club is the best bit of fortune City have had for years .... we have to be careful ... what good did Cardiff's protests do them? Where are they now? What connection does Vincent Tan have to Cardiff? What's stopping him getting bored and disappearing? Kudos to Allam for the way he's handled things ..... it's clear none of the other local moneyed folk are interested in running City .... they seem happy to let Allam take the flack and risk HIS money .... I choose to be grateful to the Allams for not just saving City but taking them to new heights ... I don't think someone is a better fan than I just because they sing at games. I know loads of decent, loyal City fans who've been going since long before CTWD were ever conceived who never sing, never have done, never will ... the fact that these people are even booing shows the strength of feeling against the protests

IF you think about it, I believe that you should pick your fights, I am not saying that all fights are redundant.

Yes, because that song at that time is a protest against something thats not going to happen. The protest was successful. Continuing it is like sticking two fingers up at the owner. Why not sing something different to show how the protesters have moved on.

Don't be silly! CTWD founders are definitely better fans! After all, they travel 1st class on the train to away games. <bubbly>

I think he does want to reunite the fans. Monday night showed a section of our fan base is not happy with the 1904 protest. Instead of trying to stop it or replace it with something else you are basically saying **** em. Some supporters trust you will be.

It started off as a protest, but now it's just a City chant like any other. We apologise it if causes offence.

It isn't for you to say what the song is or isn't. Many people say it's sung as a celebration of our successful fight against the name change. If Allam can't bear to hear that he shouldn't be in charge of a football club. But in his defence there's nothing to suggest he can't. Both Ehab on RH and James Mooney at the recent FWG meeting have publicly stated that the owners like to hear the song on 19'04" because it generates a great atmosphere in the ground, and it's not like Ehab to refrain from having a pop at the fans. Even if it was anti-Allam he would deserve it for what he's done. The guy is not above criticism and people can't make it a taboo to dislike him. If he was a wonderful person no one would dislike him. As it is he's earnt plenty of dislike from some fans.

The fans don't need to show they've moved on. Allam hasn't moved on and if they want to voice opposition to his continued appeals then there's nothing wrong with that.

It's utterly pathetic that there are a number of people on here who don't want to hear the fans chanting a particular song, which can't possibly offend anyone, and they didn't mind it until a week ago when the club signed some more players. How can you be against your fans singing a City song. It's shameful that people can show more loyalty to Assem Allam than to the words City Til I Die. That song is this club, as are others like it.

Even when he goes and all this name change crap is gone for good there's going to be an underlying problem, which Allam has made obvious but isn't the cause of, which is that we've got some properly ****ing ****e fans at this club.
