Regardless of your personal feelings about the name change, what do you think the outcome of the appeal will be? The fa vote was quite close.
He reckons his grounds of appeal are that the shorter name is better for marketing. Given he thinks the current name is Hull City Tigers, even if he ever puts an appeal in, it will fail.
I was at work and havent heard the interview in full but http://www.theguardian.com/football...sell-club-if-appeal-against-name-change-fails Allam added: “We have also begun the appeal against the FA decision with the court of arbitration for sport and we are hopeful of a positive outcome, or that the FA reconsider their decision. That doesnt say he has put it in but working on it. Is that wording right?
If you had taken the result of the 2010 general election to a court, do you think you would stop Cameron becoming PM? It was very close. Of course you wouldn't - because regardless of the players and personal opinions involved, the process was followed correctly. Under what circumstances would the CAS have for overturning the ruling of the English Governing Body. They would only be able to intervene if something hadn't been followed correct - the FA was meticulous.
I understand, from certain sources, that it is actually John in Walkington’s ‘dossier’ that’s fronting up the appeal and it is that, that has been sent to CAS.
I would think his appeal will be based on the FA stopping him branding his club the way he would like and (in his opinion) a loss in the club's income/potential earnings.
That's my understanding - the vote could have 51-49, and it would still have failed unless he can prove the system is at fault.
Oh he's definitely trying to twist the FA's arm to let him have another shot at them. 14% swing and he's done it. Not sure about CAS and how they work but if they're European then they may like to **** the FA over.
