I think Steve Bruce is maybe like many of us; unbelievably happy with how he has been backed in the transfer market and the investment in the youth academy and the many other things all done with a business like perspective but then staggered by this attitude towards the name change and the arguments that have been put forward for it and every public action in relation to it. There is no logical corrolation between the 2 stances and to me he seems so frustrated that what could be so good for all (he constantly makes reference that this is something the people of hull deserve) is being ruined by the name change issue. Like others have said - I think he will ultimately leave because of it; one way or another.
I disagree.. he wont walk away at all. why would he? like you say, he got all of his targets in the transfer window. he is savvy enough not to say anything to piss off AA. so he won't get fired. he won't particularly care what fans are saying cos he knows that as soon as we start to win things, all will be forgotten.
Do you think he's seen the barrister's advice? Or, that he's been told they've got advice and it says we'll win? If asked to guess, I'd say its the second one. Steve Bruce's opinion will not count in the hearing unless he's got evidence that the FA's procedure was irrational, or that they acted outside their rules or they have broken the law. Somehow I don't expect Steve Bruce to be called as a witness. But I may be wrong.
If they are successful in their arbitration based on a matter of procedural breakdown, then I'm sure the decision will not be reversed but merely the procedure repeated, but within the boundaries of the rules.
I've started reading the rules and will have a look at the European legislation tomorrow. Looks like Assem Allam has broken one of the rules of Arbitration already by discussing it before the world's press, he may have got permission from the FA to do it, so who knows.
I have no idea what Steve Bruce has been told but something has made him think the Allams will win. You're right when you say his opinion will not count in the hearing. However he is someone who is close to the allams and his opinion does hold some weight with me. Bruce comes across as quite an honest and likable bloke and I usually find myself in agreement whenever I hear him talk.
My mistake, sorry. I didn't realise you meant his opinion had weight amongst fans rather than the arbitration process.
