The day I was born we lost 1-0 to Villa (sorry) We were sitting 13th in division one. My first game was in 1993 against Coventry we won 5-1 and Peter Ndlovu scored for Coventry which is weird because when I moved to South Africa in 2005 my first game was Orlando Pirates v Sundowns and Peter Ndlovu scored in that game as well...freaky

BushBaby, I think I was at your first game. Was their goal a shi*ty shot that sort of bobbled toward our goal and Andy Impey kind of jumped over it for some reason instead of clearing it?

That's from memory 20-odd years since so it could be well off

What an absorbing statto page

I was born in our glorious cup winning season and a few days before we drew 1 - 1 with Boro

I was born on Wed 28th April 1954, on Mon 26th we beat Leyton Orient 2-1 at home and on Fri 30th we lost 1-3 at Brighton, the last two matches of a dismal season where we finished 18th of 24 in Division Three South...

All I shall say is...we were at a low below which - no doubt thanks to my invaluable support - we have never since descended.

I was born on 7th November 1967 - and it appears a few days later on the 11th we lost 3-1 away to Carlisle in Division Two. But we got promoted as runners up :)

Another June arrival (seem to be a high proportion of us here!)

Finished 11th in old D1......and Chelsea were relegated!

I'll take that.

One thing that stands out is how competitive the leagues were then compared to now.

Drew 1-1 with Millwall the day I was born 28.08.71, funny as my dad has always told me he missed seeing us playChelsea because of me being born during the day and I've never thought to question it! We weren't even in same division!!!
We were 9th and finished 4th

Dec 16th 1953 - after losing at home 1-0 to Bristol City, followed by an awful Christmas Day performance at Colchester, losing 5-0, despite no doubt being thrilled to have a future R in his midst, I bet the turkey didn't go down too well for my poor Dad!

The team likely got a good kick in the pants after that dismal showing and at least we smartened up Boxing Day with a 0-0 draw, again against Colchester at Loftus Road.

Football League Division Three South

Sat 5 Queens Park Rangers 3-1 Ipswich Town
Sat 19 Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Bristol City
Fri 25 Colchester United 5-0 Queens Park Rangers
Sat 26 Queens Park Rangers 0-0 Colchester United

A nice 3-1 hammering to the R'sss at Portsmouth in Div 2 (13/9/69). Wish it could have been the same for my first game on the 7th of May 1979 a 3-1 loss to Birmingham. Stood under the floodlight with my Dad in the loft (priceless memories).

Looks like we have a number of new members coming board which is good stuff.
I can also see that you have much in common, being that you all were born at a very young age!
Welcome to the forum.

I was born on a Tuesday in April 1975 so the Saturday before was a home win against Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 0.

The following week we lost 2 - 1 against Ipswich at Portman Road.

The thing that really upsets me most was the Bay City Rollers were No1 with Bye Bye Baby. If I was born a few weeks later it could have been a cool tune like Bohemian Rhapsody.

number 1 the day I was born was 2 little boys by rolf harris
could be a new music thread in that utrs
