Really can't remember I was only 7 or 8. Just remember leaving the stadium thinking wow supporting QPR is a walking in park, little did I know...
Good thread this.....another member of the June club, this time 1960......closest game was on 4th May 1960 last game of 59/60 season when we drew 1-1 away at Wrexham in the old 3rd Division.....Finished 8th on 51 points, Southampton and Norwich were promoted..... The first game of the 60/61 season on 20th August saw us lose 1-0 away at Bournemeouth....
Don't think I've come across a thread with so many new members having come on ................ Kiwi should be our Marketing & Employment Officer. On another positive, the June Club sounds like a winner.
What is it with all us June births, did they put something in the water during September or was it due to the onset of autumn and bugger all on telly, so early nights had by all!!!!!!!
January 68 for me. Just beaten PNE in the old 2nd Division and then promptly lost to them in the FA Cup the week after.
My birthday fell on a Friday (November, 1981)...next day QPR beat Cardiff 2-0 and sat 3rd in the table. Bet my old man was doubly pleased, beating Cardiff is always a joy and he also had me to celebrate with!
I was surprised to find we had beaten Bradford Park day before my arrival in August 1948, and were top of Division 2 having been promoted the season before! Always backed a winning team.
we were 6th in division two. Chelsea looked like they missed out on promotion that year. They were thhird on my birthdate but end up 5th. Bahahahahahaha
