http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11457060.Brecon_joy_for_Benali/?ref=mac Hurrah..he's had a better day running through the Brecon Beacons (lovely area). He's not been eating well, which is worrying...he has to force those calories down. Good news that he is up and running again.
Go on Franny. This is an incredible feat. I'm getting annoyed at the lack of big media coverage. This is a chance for football to show what a decent man who made a living out of the game can give back. Sky or someone, need to really get on this in a big way, not just the little bit in soccer am. All the rich chairman should be greeting him with a big fat cheque. Come on Arry, meet him at QPR with a personal donation out of one of your notsododgy accounts and be a hero in saints fans eyes.
The way the media work, Franny would get more coverage if he broke down and couldn't carry on, than by succeeding everyday. I expect he'll get more attention on the last day when he gets to St Mary's, but with it being a matchday, might get lost in the background.
He'd get more attention if he covered himself in baked beans at Old Trafford! Or if he filmed himself crying and telling us about his emotional "journey"
Of course, if it was someone like David Beckham, Paul Scholes or someone else who played for a big club ... you wouldn't hear the end of it. It would be all over the news, all over the papers etc.
He did get coverage on Soccer Saturday before he started out...pretty sure, Tiss will make sure he gets coverage at the end. However, it's a shame he hasn't received some coverage during the run.
I only hope he is introduced at the Newcastle game at 5 minutes to kick off, rather than 2pm when the ground is empty.
Wanted to give again, but site completely seized and when it finally moved it wanted a password that I never knew I had. Then when I want to reset a password, it froze again. I hate technology and I hate passwords more than anything. Every time I do anything I have to reset passwords...has put me off shopping on line before. Won't give up on Franny...will try later. he's on over £48K now.

Hey Brecon, random question, there's an outside chance I might be travelling from Brecon area to the swansea game (or trying to anyway) - am either staying with friends in cardiff both nights or one night with some friends in brecon and saturday night in cardiff. Brecon to cardiff is easy but doesn't it take about 3 hours by public transport to get to swansea? Might just do 2 nights in cardiff if it is hassle.
3 hours from Brecon or from Cardiff? Cardiff to Swansea is a doddle. Mainline train, two or three trains an hour, 50-60 mins journey- £8. If you've got no problem getting to Cardiff, it's that straightforward. If you need public transport all the way from Brecon, it's a bit more complicated. You'll need a bus at least as far as Merthyr Tydfil ( TrawsCymru bus service-35 mins). Then you can get a train to Swansea, changing at Cardiff (2 hours or possibly 2.5 hours depending on departure time ). Alternatively you can get a bus all the way from Brecon to Cardiff, but this takes 2 hours plus the Swansea train journey and any waiting time at the changeover. (You may also have to change buses a couple of times en route to Cardiff). The best alternative, if you don't have to go to Cardiff first, is to catch the TrawsCymru to Merthyr and then the X75/X5A direct to Swansea along the A465(Heads of the Valleys). This takes you through Hirwaun, a few miles south of me , Glynneath, Neath and finally Swansea- about an hour! . Get your change right at Merthyr and you could do the whole journey in just over 1.5 hours!!! Probably cheapest option too-although I can't vouch for this. www.traveline-cymru.info/ ****update**** Just realised that you can get a direct bus from Brecon to Swansea, going through Sennybridge and Ystradgynlais. Takes about the same time as the Merthyr route, but you haven't got to change buses. Another positive is that you don't have to hang around in Merthyr and it only costs £7. The only problem is that you have fewer time options. Departs Brecon 12:15 and arrives Swansea 13:56...a bit tight! Or 09:15 to arrive 10:56...spot of lunch? Hope this helps?

Thanks, very comprehensive!! Yes I've done Cardiff to Swansea many times but never Brecon to Swansea. I think I will probably stay in Cardiff both nights for less hassle, I might not be in the best shape for sitting on a bus for 2 hours after friday night! Cheers
