no you see we've lost 5 and brought in 7 so now we have a stronger squad with more competition and we are £40m up on the deals
Eh, I can't be bothered to keep arguing the point, especially as I have nothing against Southampton and frankly I don't give a damn.... but I would like to briefly revisit the earlier point about jealously just to reiterate I am not remotely jealous of Southampton, the fact that they're in the Premier League or the fact that they have a sugar mummy. I am completely behind the current way Portsmouth is currently governed, how much more ethical we are as a club and how much more community focused the club is. I'm enjoying being a Portsmouth fan more nowadays in League 2 than I did when were in the Premier League. You can keep your your sugar mummys (and daddys), I'm not interested
Not a great idea to talk about how ethical PFC is, as people tend to have long memories? Especially those still owed money?

Is this thread still going? I think it's basic assumptions have been shown to be completely wrong this week. If could always be merged, appropriately enough, with the Fantasy Football thread
PFC is dead and buried - it's called Old Co now - just old former owners under investigation for foul play. However; PCFC is alive and kicking, It bought the old club out of administration, has taken on the "agreed" commitments of Old-Co and is indeed well ahead of schedule of the repayments, those repayments now being only a few of the former players. All businesses owed funds under the CVA have been paid up. Time to move on Dell Boy.
Fully appreciate all your points and you are of course correct, I like to have an occasional dig at Pompey but I really hope it works out well especially as its now a community club and God knows both sets of supporters have suffered at the hands of dodgy former owners?
Good to hear Pompey being run properly nowadays. Although i did enjoy your brief flirtation with the relegation zone last season, i really cant see it happening again, and fully expect you to reach playoff at a minimum this season. I nearly backed you to win the league this season @14/1 earlier in the summer. I just couldnt bring myself to do it, dont think i could stand wanting you to win every week, so looked elsewhere in Div 2. As for us, i think we may have a slow start while players gel, but reckon somewhere between 9th and 14th is realistic. Really cant see us going down.
Not to be a pedant (on a football forum, surely not) but according to the been its 7 players in, 7 out. Appreciate 2 of those weren't exactly first choice, but both senior professionals. So point taken in that its a bigger pool of players, but suppose time will tell whether its not necessarily better quality. Anyway, will get back in my box now.
I do love it when Saints and Pompey fans try to be diplomatic after praising their own club regardless of some failings and try to show a well done but I don't care about you, to finish with lol Politeness doesn't cost a penny my mum used to say. So come on you Saints and Pompey for the Conference
Good try........... but no, not only did we take over the commitments of the old co we also took over its assets, including its history and plaudits And we have the trophies in the cupboard to prove it We also took over its reputation, good and bad, but we're shaking off the bad rep
Can imagine that gave so many fans at the west end of the M27 a lot of hope - but most of us knew that it was just another moment on the rollercoaster ride that is Pompey. We knew we wouldn't go on a Conference tour. This season, I reckon we're going up and you're staying where you are. But one day, soon, we'll meet again! And the battle will recommence
