For half of last season he couldn't cross the ball to save his life. It's quite conceivable that he could be upgraded.

Interesting to read a bid from Southampton was received on Friday. Must have been after the game on Thursday night ?
Does anyone know who the Southampton scout around here is?
I'm not reading too much into this Danny Welbeck story. Simply because if City were genuinely interested we would be the last to know.
So is it a story fed out by Welbecks agent to alert other clubs he is up for sale? Or on the other hand in a similar way is it a way of letting the new Man Utd manager know that Welbeck is not happy?
Or are we using Welbeck to alert another player we are interested in (and maybe talking too) that we,as a club, are serious in attracting top players?
Morale of the story? Don't believe everything you read in the papers.

TOM

He's one of the most important players in our team.

:emoticon-0148-yes:.

Shane long is a very useful buy decent finisher but is that 12 million they have money to waste from lallana ,lambert, lovren and shaw long could help them but if he dont get what he wants good luck southampton

Given that Big Nick was only signed by Brentord on a 1 year deal with an option for a second would suggest, to me anyway, that we are subsidising his wages for the first year which would have also been the last of his 3 year deal with us.

After that, we have no obligation which would mean that Brentford and Nick would have a decision to make between them.

It is crazy that we pay anyone to play somewhere else. If true then so be it.

Yes, but unfortunately, you're an idiot.

A very wealthy idiot if you please. <ok> By the way, how is your aged debters listed thesedays >? :emoticon-0104-surpr Ever heard of credit control by chance ? <doh>

Get out of OLM's backside fool and wash that brown stuff off.

That's probably the truest thing that's been posted since this forum began.

Did you have help with this post ? Just asking. <ok>

Back on thread

Long has gone and we shall be better off long term. FACT.

Prossy is probably in a very comfortable financial position.

City would have negotiated with his agent (taking into account what Brentford were prepared to pay him), paid up his contract (either in lump sum or agreed in instalments) and then told him **** off. Brentford will be paying him a fraction of what he was earning here but it doesn't matter to Prossy cos he's already got a big pay-off from City.

Brentford are now paying all of his wages as per a new contract he would have signed with them, but they can only do this because he's already been paid off by us (either in a lump sum or instalments).

So, Tickles is partly right but he's still an idiot.....

These things happen.

They alsways do.

But I thought you'd said there was no chance of it happening...

I forgot the influence his wife had on him. Even Long has said that it was for "family" reasons this move happened and he was happy here.

Suarez left Liverpool for the same reason - family. If he were single then i bet Liverpool would still have him. But in this case we shall never know.
