As you live in BC, Canada how much time do you spend with your "average fan." Let me answer that for you...zilch...you spend your time with, er ice hockey fans? Certainly not with "yes to the name change" supporters.
Evington i'm sure he posted it to make the point that his discussion with Assem had caused him to modify his stance on the name change. Simply a point of information. I doubt that he expected a verbal lynching.
Not a single post on this thread has been censored, the OP has every right to post his opinion and other posters have every right to post theirs. That's how a forum works, if you don't like it, don't come on.
Kind of the point of the whole thread?...thank Allem or call him a prick?....u guys saying the latter ...pricks yerself.....look am good at online poker...i get his approach...and anyone with a sense of intelligence would too?...he fooked up on the name change and has admittedly said so at private partys...but hes playing it cool and not gonna show a bluff...but as thread original guy said..he actually DOES support City too...shock horror!
I am with you. There are plenty of other potential owners out there who would not put any money where their mouth is. He is pleasing the average modern premiership loving fan. And there are far more out there than the traditional pationate fans who prefer real football unfortunately, which is probably by coincidence, at least one tier down from where we currently lie!
As for council, if that has to be key to Hull Targers future, then I'll see you all in Division 4 after Dr Allam sells up and Murdoch creates his full time Euro League for the financial pig fraternity. Catch 22 - Hull City died the moment Deano's volley hit the back of the net at Wembley......face it or keep handing out the tin badges and leaflets for no good reason!!!
But he hates 'City' - he's said so. It's common and irrelevant.
What he 'supports' is whatever he's put some money (with strings) into.
In nearly 50 years of supporting Hull City ( since my dad first took me in 65 ) when asked who I support I have said CITY, IF asked in Hull .
When asked outside of Hull iv always said Hull City.
I couldn't give a stuff about the AFC bit being on the name or not. Iv never said I support Hull City AFC or used the AFC bit when talking about Hull City
I'm NOT anti Allan.
I WISH HE WOULD ANNOUNCE HE WONT APPLY TO CHANGE THE NAME AGAIN.
its caused nothing but fans to argue and fall out and I have NEVER met one supporter when asked to choose between HULL CITY and HULL CITY TIGERS / HULL TIGERS that would rather we had those last two names...
I'm not bothered about the badge change we have had badges in the past void of the name and even void of a tigers head / I like the seating change .
I go to city to watch city play.
I love that we are doing great and in the premier league BUT I would still love going to watch city in division 4 as I still call it.
I consider AA as one of our best owners ever.....

I thought you said when you offered your candidacy for Mod (which i voted for incidentally) that your involvement with CTWD would not affect your decisions, but that you would be strictly neutral in such matters. But I've already been accused by you of censorship for expressing my views on the CTWD critics of the poster of this threads support for Assem Allam and told I can leave the board if I continue to, in effect, voice similar opinions. Well I hate to disappoint you but I plan to stick around and post on matters that interest me on the field, as well as the Allams.

I didn't accuse you of censoring anything, I said you were requesting censorship from the mods that you were never going to get. This has nothing to do with my role at CTWD, there has been nothing posted on this thread which is offensive, it's just people's opinions, which is precisely what a forum is for.
I am not at all disappointed that you're sticking around, neither did I tell you to leave the board,i just said if people's opinions piss you off that much, don't come on and read them.
I will not censor any pro-Allam posts, nor anti-Allam posts, it's not my role, until someone posts something offensive, it's not the job of a moderator to control the debate.
It's impossible to fault what City have achieved on the pitch during the Allams' tenure. And given the money they've stumped up, it's hard to criticise them financially all the while they don't recall their debts.
But they've handled things disastrously off the pitch. I get a sense from the OP that Assem is starting to get that. Good. If he means it, don't brief buddies in Slovakian hotels. Go public.
