I'm clearly not as in touch with what the average fan thinks as you British Columbia folks are.

What time did you get back from Zilina?

And how much time did you spend with the "average fan" while you were there Blampey.? Let me answer that one for you....zilch...you spent all your time with your fellow CTWD moaners didn't you. Of course you don't know anyone who supports the name change....you never talk to them.

Some people seem to understand that it just isn't about the name change.

It's the constant lying, insulting and contradictive hissy fits.

If he had gone about the name change in a honest and respectful way he would got a lot less hostility.

I had a fascinating 20 minute discussion with him in the Hotel in Zilina. He's quite a character. I voted 'no' to Hull Tigers but I'm not so sure I would any more.

Assem Allam is not just a very successful businessman, he's a Hull City (Hull Tigers?) fanatic and a more passionate supporter than most. He wants to make changes not because he can but because he loves the club and wants to see it take off. That's hard when your basic revenue is £x million down on those you're competing with because of it being such a small stadium. But he's also not for fighting battles he either can't win or turn out to be a Pyrrhic victory.

If he gets an offer for the club he would probably take it and then we would have an owner who is a businessman and not a passionate supporter. A businessman who would come in with the same challenge, we are probably 10,000 seats light of being able to compete. I may not like everything Assem Allam wants to do but now I know his heart is truly with our club I would rather back him 100% than the alternative.

I want more days like Wembley and Trencin away. Not proudly saying we kept our name with 35 others on a cold, wet Friday night in Swansea being beaten 2-0.

That's all well and good, he seemed like a nice bloke when I met him (long before the name change saga) so I'm not doubting that. HOWEVER, there's still no good reason for the name change in there. Nice guy or not, you can't just change a 110 year old institution because you don't want to upset somebody.

exactly that , CTWD are fast becoming a figure of hatred as far as city is concerned , said it a few days ago and reinforced today when one known member walked into pub and got told to f** off because of his stance as people are enjoying the ride .. go campaign somewhere else

Didn't happen though, did it? Your desperate attempts to remain relevant on here are as sad as they are funny.

Well done for giving your honest opinion of Assem Allam. As usual you have been greeted with the enraged blitherings of the pack of CTWD Gestapo who will hear nothing positive of the Allams. Is this going to be another year when those of us who are more concerned about how our club does on the field have to put up with another endless stream of anti-Allam "name change" hate mail? What happened Mods to the idea of making CTWDs diatribes the subject of a "Sticky"?

You CTWD lot should be bloody ashamed of yourselves. The man is entitled to express his honest opinion without having to put up with some of the nonsense in this thread.

One man gave his honest opinion of Allam, others gave theirs. What's the problem? If you want to write down your opinions with nobody disagreeing get a diary, don't do it on an internet forum.

Another thing is has anyone heard a CEO or chairman of national/international insult his core customers in the press?

Precisely. So why the hostility toward this poster expressing his comments regarding a conversation with Assem Allam by some CTWD advocates on here??? And on many other threads where a poster has had THE TEMERITY (God forbid) to express views even remotely supportive of the Allams and in favour of....or even agnostic....of a name change. Opinions are acceptable and encouraged. For the CTWD diehards however "its my way or the highway" to any signs of dissent. That has got to stop.

Anyone can post any opinion on City they like(within reason).

And anyone else is free to respond to that post with their opinion(within reason).

What you actually want, is for people's opinions to be censored because they differ from yours.

That simply isn't going to happen.

When Assem Allam announces that we will remain Hull City and he will make no further attempt to change our name, then this nonsense will stop. Until then, it will continue.

And how much time did you spend with the "average fan" while you were there Blampey.? Let me answer that one for you....zilch...you spent all your time with your fellow CTWD moaners didn't you. Of course you don't know anyone who supports the name change....you never talk to them.

How much do you know about what the average fan who goes to games thinks ? I think people who actually go to games might have more idea

apart from when CTWD are involved of course .. as anyone against it is "stupid" , "pathetic" , and "apathetic" . CTWD have created this ... and continue to let the minority or easily led youngsters get on the train ... when are they going to sit back and enjoy the football ... isn't that whats it about .. football ...

No, its about Hull City.

For long periods of our history we were ****. If it was about football we would of hopped on the available buses/trains and travelled to watch Manchester United, Leeds United or Liverpool.

Our name is our heritage and our history and one man shouldn't be allowed to take it away from us, simply because he is rich. One day it will be sold on to the next businessman, and there will be another one after that, then another, but supporting Hull City is passed on from one generation to the next, through good times and bad times.

Nearly all the top 10 teams in the Premier League are looking to expand their grounds, because people bring money, not just through the gates and the club shops but also in increased advertising and sponsorship. If Assem Allam loves Hull City so much he would be prepared to sit down with the Council and talk about expanding the stadium. That is my test for how much he loves our football club.

Do we read anything into Assem wearing the same shirt in Zilinia as he's wearing in the picture below?

At 19.04 in Zilina, pretty much the entire 600 travelling City fans stood and sang City Till We Die.

The name change may have it's supporters in Canada, or Cambridgeshire(or wherever the gnome lives), but it certainly doesn't in Hull.

I actually think those who want to go back to the dark days i myself have experienced many years before our success....are just morbid ****ers?..... yes!

Why would we be going back to the dark days?

Hull City AFC is enjoying sunshine days as it is.

Well avoided.

I suppose you think Stoke Mandeville Hospital should just be grateful for all the funds Jimmy Saville raised on their behalf.

Who do you suggest decides who is talking nonsense? You?

This is what does my head in.

At games we're a united fanbase. There's CTWD scarves everywhere and everyone sings on 19'04", particularly away from home. The people on here who get so upset about our disobedience obviously don't go to games.

If we're really a minority why are there no We Say Yes Allam chants and why are the We Say No ones so popular?

This is what does MY head in. Has it ever occurred to you that there are not 20,000 supporters standing up with "We Say Yes Allam" chants and scarves because they are NOT PROTESTING. They are content with the direction the Club is going in under the present owners. They cant all be disingenuous fools or "bought and paid for" to quote Blampey. Speaking...or singing... LOUDLY doesn't mean you are right....or in the majority. It just means you make a lot of noise.!!

add to that the nonsense about moving to Melton, the nonsense with the Council, the nonsense with Barmby, the nonsense with Adam Pearson, the nonsense with the Johnny Whitely pics, the nonsense with selling Stewart to Leicester which cost us £1.5 mill, the nonsense with threatening to leave within 24 hours, the nonsense about no more money, the nonsense about wanting the HU11 CTY reg for the city and the club, the nonsense about the lack of a city tour celebration, the nonsense with the Andy Dawson testimonial, I could go on and on - the reason for the hostility is that he seems unable to interact with anyone in a respectful way - all this **** about no-one tells him how to manage his business and look at his cv - his cv stinks of Ruscador Shipyard although he seems to have conveniently forgotten about that - I wonder if all the men made redundant have

the FA said No to Hull Tigers - the Yes brigade should be protesting if they support him

To be fair Canada he did start this by posting. What did he expect? No response?

The 'whole' of the German nation were disingenuous fools in the thirties
