I had a fascinating 20 minute discussion with him in the Hotel in Zilina. He's quite a character. I voted 'no' to Hull Tigers but I'm not so sure I would any more.

Assem Allam is not just a very successful businessman, he's a Hull City (Hull Tigers?) fanatic and a more passionate supporter than most. He wants to make changes not because he can but because he loves the club and wants to see it take off. That's hard when your basic revenue is £x million down on those you're competing with because of it being such a small stadium. But he's also not for fighting battles he either can't win or turn out to be a Pyrrhic victory.

If he gets an offer for the club he would probably take it and then we would have an owner who is a businessman and not a passionate supporter. A businessman who would come in with the same challenge, we are probably 10,000 seats light of being able to compete. I may not like everything Assem Allam wants to do but now I know his heart is truly with our club I would rather back him 100% than the alternative.

I want more days like Wembley and Trencin away. Not proudly saying we kept our name with 35 others on a cold, wet Friday night in Swansea being beaten 2-0.

Well done for giving your honest opinion of Assem Allam. As usual you have been greeted with the enraged blitherings of the pack of CTWD Gestapo who will hear nothing positive of the Allams. Is this going to be another year when those of us who are more concerned about how our club does on the field have to put up with another endless stream of anti-Allam "name change" hate mail? What happened Mods to the idea of making CTWDs diatribes the subject of a "Sticky"?

You CTWD lot should be bloody ashamed of yourselves. The man is entitled to express his honest opinion without having to put up with some of the nonsense in this thread.

at last someone who has spoken to the man THAT MATTERS , and realises he does care ...

he is doing what he does to make us as good as we can be .. that is all and he said so when he took over (and everyone loved it when he did)

exactly that , CTWD are fast becoming a figure of hatred as far as city is concerned , said it a few days ago and reinforced today when one known member walked into pub and got told to **** off because of his stance as people are enjoying the ride .. go campaign somewhere else

Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, this is a forum after all.

apart from when CTWD are involved of course .. as anyone against it is "stupid" , "pathetic" , and "apathetic" . CTWD have created this ... and continue to let the minority or easily led youngsters get on the train ... when are they going to sit back and enjoy the football ... isn't that whats it about .. football ...

I have yet to meet anyone who is in favour of a name change.

I have met a few 'he can do what he wants' types in their brown slip-on shoes.

The overwhelming number of people one meets are unequivocally 'over my dead body' types.

That's why in Zilina you could hear loud and proud after 19 minutes and 4 seconds the voice of the vast majority of the supporters.

These are people who did not suddenly 'care about the club' in 2010, and turned up whatever division we were in.

<laugh> You do make me laugh Dotty.

The embattled little clique of pro name changers have the upper hand in bitchy and catty remarks.

Just ask Harpy Tiger.

Precisely. So why the hostility toward this poster expressing his comments regarding a conversation with Assem Allam by some CTWD advocates on here??? And on many other threads where a poster has had THE TEMERITY (God forbid) to express views even remotely supportive of the Allams and in favour of....or even agnostic....of a name change. Opinions are acceptable and encouraged. For the CTWD diehards however "its my way or the highway" to any signs of dissent. That has got to stop.

Should do an infamous not606hull poll of who was actually their back in the romantic days of crap crowds n practically non league football....yeah i use to wear my shirt with pride back in the day n get honks of the odd passing cars who couldnt believe someone else in Hull actually proudly supports Hull too...then romantically see the odd paper column when we drew big teams like liverpool or villa in the cup(thriller at the villa?) comparing our players cars with theirs...before we were soundly beaten without the big teams breaking into a sweat!...do i want to go back there again?...hell no!...and Assem taken us to a whole new level Adam could self admittedly never achieve....cant believe the anti Allem guys personally...their either crazy or want ****e lower league football again just so people start honking their car horns at em once again to make them feel romantically special once again....i say massive thanks Allems and Adam for some truly fabulous days that some..... my Hull mad dad R.I.P would have chewed their own leg off to see.

Whatever.

So the choice is lower league penury and failure as Hull City, or Premier League success as Hull Tigers?

You remind me Blampey of the very liberal New York Times writer...I think it was Maureen Dowd...who when asked about Ronald Reagan's landslide victory over Jimmy Carter in 1980 said...."I'm amazed. I don't know anyone who voted for him". Living as she did in her closed little world of rich NY limousine liberals to whom "conservative" was a dirty word her opinion was not surprising. You should get out more Blampey!!

Canada I've explained to you before why we aren't going to censor everything anti Allam simply because you don't like it seeing it.

The best way to stop people calling him a **** would be for him to stop being a ****.

Your anger is misplaced. You don't care about the name and that's your choice, but you need to stop frowning upon those who do care, especially from thousands of miles away.

There's still no argument for changing the name, and still no reason to forget the appalling stuff Allam has said in the past year about the fans or the way he turned the whole club against the fans.

I'm clearly not as in touch with what the average fan thinks as you British Columbia folks are.

What time did you get back from Zilina?

Briiliantly put Hesford. Thank you the Allam family. I'm glad I lived long enough to witness these "fabulous days".

This is what does my head in.

At games we're a united fanbase. There's CTWD scarves everywhere and everyone sings on 19'04", particularly away from home. The people on here who get so upset about our disobedience obviously don't go to games.

If we're really a minority why are there no We Say Yes Allam chants and why are the We Say No ones so popular?

I think most are on the wind up.

And then you get the odd one like Canada who just genuinely doesn't get it.

So everybody expresses their opinions then , including you
