Poyet still wants Borini therefore I want Borini.

If the player has told Sunderland, 'absolutely no chance' we'd have made a relevant statement.

However, the fact that Poyet is still putting his credibility on the line, by pursuing Borini, makes me believe it's still on.

Poyet is no one's fool and he must be getting encouragement from the agent/player/club.

We have to realise that all of these players are milking the system and are nothing but itinerant mercenaries.

Does Borini have any connection with Sunderland ........ does he ****.
Does he love the town/club/supporters .......... does he ****.
Did we dance in the streets when we took him on loan ..... did we ****.

I remember the luke warm response when he came here and now people are saying 'let's spend £14 million pounds' after one decent season.

I also remember him missing an absolute ****ing sitter at Villa and comng out of the ground thinking, '****ing useless'.

But if Poyet sees him as crucial to his idea of how he wants us to play then fair enough.

Good post. Personally at this point I'd drop the interest and save ourselves £14m, I'd have happily paid £14m but he doesn't seem keen and the longer we wait on him the less time on alternatives. Poyet has said something along those lines, so think in the next few days he'll either be a Sunderland player or we will have moved on

I don't think the 2 things are mutually exclusive ........ we'll be actively pursuing alternatives while wooing Borini.

If not then I'll move up to to Durham and take control of negotiations mesel!!!!!!!!

Besides, no one from the club has said that signing Borini would preclude us pursuing other top quality players.

Beginning to look like we`re begging and I don`t like that idea. I think Gus is right in giving a yes or no deadline. Starting to cool on him now tbh.

Got to be other options.

Vince mate, i dont want him anymore, f** him! If he arrives abd says the right things then fair enough, if not then he can go to rot!

Beginning to think that way my self if he comes all be it .if not I'm not bothered <bubbly>

Says on skysports that the remy camp are saying that Liverpool pulled out of the deal cos it hinged on borini coming to SAFC! He's turned us down, so Remy deal cant be completed. However Liverpool says he failed a medical! Someones lying!

some interesting comments on this article

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/barclays-pr.../1958931/the-dilemma-surrounding-fabio-borini

personally I think if he wanted to come he would be here so withdraw the offer and look elsewhere imo

There's another, more pragmatic, way of looking at this.

Sunderland were prepared to offer £12 million because they've had first hand experience of the player.

I can't think of another club who'd pay more than £8 million.

That's £4 million difference and I think LFC will force Borini's hand ..... they just don't want him at the club.

Seems like they`ve virtually told him to bugger off and he still won`t go.

Beats me mate.
