I was ok up to the chambers situation but that is a farce - just tell him he is staying and to get his head down I assume all jay has to say is he wants to go and that's that - gone. Zero confidence in our board currently so expect him to be sold shortly.
I'm fine with it all being in one thread, but I don't get why it wasn't an issue when it was about incomings... ...which is probably why Dan is comparing it to some sort of dictatorial regime where you're not allowed to point out the negatives. Maybe TSS should have his own Hundred Flowers Campaign...
I do feel this forum is starting to die, too strict on threads espescially during off season. Does it not sink in that many people dont want to trawl 30+ pages and about 10 different conversations at once?
Just seems like an odd transfer, now at least. Won't be fit until the end of the year, hard to get insurance for him for a new team, plus if he doesn't recover properly and Liverpool pay £20 million (he's worth that based on Lallana etc) and it doesn't work out it'll be a farce. You can definitely see him going to Spurs though, maybe in the January window I would think.
Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and realise this is all a complete nightmare. Or, maybe not. I've never, ever known a situation like this at any football club, ever. It's unprecedented, bizarre and it's pissing me off.
I saw someone tweet a photo of a new Saints shirt with 'RODRIGUEZ 9' on the back and thought "Shall I mention it?" and decided not to.
Fair enough, I can't decide if Arsenal will think he is worth the money. Maybe plan B if he can't get someone like Bender.
Because... - Premier League - Big chance to impress - Opportunity to build his own squad - Fantastic work facilities - Less pressure than in other jobs (although not right now!) - If it goes wrong, he can point to the sales of first team players - If it goes right, he'll get praise - If he really pulls something out of the bag, his reputation will soar over here - (just look at what Saints did for Pochettino's rep)
Doesn't make sense. The Remy deal is off because he failed a medical. How is Jay going to pass a medical? Or have we such a great relationship as LFC feeder club they wouldn't bother with one.
The poster was just making an assumption. Jay could easily fail a medical if he took one right now. Besides, medicals are often passed with known injuries. I think what gets clubs is when they find the unknown injury or condition that they didn't bargain for. Didn't we sign Augustin Delgado knowing full well that he had a trick knee..? One that miraculously got better when he played for his country, and then went dodgy when he returned to Southampton FC. I wonder if Gordon ate his yoghurt..?
A medical checks for underlying issues that could recur or require serious surgeries (such as a heart condition with Remy). They know Rodriguez has a torn ACL, so the medical will be more about how his recovery is going and the likelihood of him regaining full fitness.
