Might be me but it's a bit weird ..... I can't find a mention of a fee, not even the tabloids.
Be a loan, that's what we do, right?

He's had enough of Chelsea though hasn't he!?
Can't see us doing a four year loan deal either. Actually...![]()
Was a joke like, but as we have no confirmation of any details, we don't know it's 4 years yet, do we?

PVA was decent for us when we had him, that was about 4 years ago so you'd hope he's matures somewhat since then aswell. Solid. Nowhere near as good as Marcus Alonso though

BUT, people were underwhelmed when we signed Alonso, a former Bolton full back. Look what happened to him playing under Gus. His profile was raised.
I'm confident Gus can do the same with this lad.
mods merge if this has been done on another thread. Too many & can`t be arsed to check all of them.
reported!!!!!!!!!!Fair point but Alonso I presume has had non stop first team football whereas Van Aanholt has played reserve football and lower league loans. He has all the attributes to be very good though, needs time and a first team run though, I reckon Sunderland would be better off getting an experienced LB aswell to take pressure off him.BUT, people were underwhelmed when we signed Alonso, a former Bolton full back.
