It's the first meeting tonight. Anyone else off here put their name forward and are you going if so?

I know some that put their names forward that have heard nothing at all.

What's the set up? How would there be any indication of it being representative if it's just a collection of individuals?

What issues are liable to be discussed?

I put my name forward when it was first mooted and didn't hear anything, not even an acknowledgement, until earlier this week when I got the invite. I think certain staff at the club are just insanely busy and apparently can't even respond to emails half the time.

It's a self-electing thing, and I believe everyone who put themselves forward is invited. Apart from that the only way of checking reprentation is that the form asked what supporter groups you're a member of and what stand you sit in, age band etc. I know the chairman of the OSC was invited without putting his name forward, so presumably that was with representing their members in mind. This is only the inaugural meeting, so perhaps in future there'll be more representation of groups, messageboards etc once they know who's on board.

There is an agenda, but it hasn't been made available to most invitees as far as I'm aware. I understand the new badge is on there along with some matchday experience stuff. The name change may be discussed as an AOB thing but the Allams won't be there I don't think, so I suspect we'll be barking up the wrong tree.

You believe wrong according to some I know.

No offence, but it seems to be a nodding dog collection that they're after to tick some box, rather than a serious attempt to canvass the views of fans.

I do know of some that were approached to go, but despite reminders have heard no more.

It's just the impression I got from the invite email. It said something about everyone who put their name forward getting that email. Obviously I can't comment on your mates.

Of course there's a good chance the whole thing is just an Allam exercise in 'proving' he listens to the fans but I think like in the past, the group will naturally attract the hardcore types. I'll be very surprised if anyone in attendance supports the name change idea when it's inevitably brought up.

Not my mates as such, but people I know. I'd also lay a decent bet that there are some that would never get on the group no matter how many times they asked.

As I said, there are people who were told they'd be invited before the group was even announced, but have heard nothing more and had no replies from emails. That speaks volumes on the credence the club have towards these meetings.

The fact they invited the OSC bod seems to show they are going to try to claim the group is somehow representative, despite what looks like a selection process.

I'd bet any mention of the Allams or the name change, or the ridiculous stand move will be nipped firmly in the bud.

Tea, cake and a pat on the head seems to be the agenda.

It's nothing like the OSC. It was announced by the club earlier in the summer and we discussed it on here. It's basically the latest reincarnation of the FLAG from a couple of years ago and FLC from years before that. It's about supporters having a say on issues at City. The idea is (or at least should be) that every fan can have their say via this group.

The OSC is a membership group where you pay to join and get certain benefits. It isn't in a position to try and influence anything at the club or to be a campaign group or anything like that.

How can that be the case, when nobody knows when it meets, who is on it and who they 'represent'? Especially as the meeting attendance IS selective.

If it is anything like FLAG, how do we get any issues raised?

300 people applied to be involved, I suspect a couple of dozen of them will actually be there tonight.

There is an agenda, it basically says don't ask about the name change, as I'll pretend I don't know we're applying again, love James Mooney.

The fact that people who didn't actually apply to go, were invited just because they're Allam lovers, probably tells you all you need to know.

Where's that figure from, because I know some that applied and got nothing back, and others that were asked to go initially, but haven't been invited.

How the hell does the marketing manager keep his job?

Do they have any marketing targets and plans to increase our presence in the city centre?

I did e mail to apply but have not had the courtesy of any reply or invitation. I wouldn't normally have put myself up for something like this but was curious as to what would actually be discussed. A number of my fellow supporters have various grievancies which I would have liked to have seen discussed...maybe small beer in the scheme of things but things like new season passes for families in the South stand not at first being able to sit together. I very much doubt the name change, still proposed? or the badge, now completed, would have been discussed. It seems like this is just to placate the fans and appear to be being seen to be doing something. This should have been set up for discussion months ago before the farce started. Anyway....no response so B**ger them!

It'd be interesting to know what criteria they used to screen candidates.

I reckon not being invited is a complement.

If you are going PLT ask why we dont play any home friendlies. Cant we do a Yorkshire Cup every season invite the top four Yourkshire clubs for a tournament at the KC? Harrogate Winterton etc ****e. Keep Ferriby fair enough but seriously have a tourny at the KC.

So we dont know who's going yet they are already nodding dogs. hmm

Bit of a conclusive statement, although I did say earlier, based on the information so far, I agree with you that it does look that way.

    Are you going?

Regarding the bottom bit. I should say I'm not absolutely sure the guy I mentioned didn't put his name forward, but I understand he was invited because he's the chairman of the OSC, which is one of the two biggest City fans groups. I don't think that's unreasonable at all. Do you know if Mark Gretton has been invited? If not then I agree there's something wrong.

It is interesting how the group has been assembled. They already know I'm vehemently anti-name change so it's not like they're just after loads of yes men. The e-mail invite says "We are delighted to inform you that we these meetings will begin on Friday 25th July 2014 with meeting also occurring next week too, we will be inviting 20 people to attend at a time and hoping to see everyone who has applied by the end of the first week in August." Actually I've just realised that might mean they're inviting people a week at a time, so others will get their invite in due course. It certainly suggests everyone who applied should be invited at some point.

This is definitely something I'll be moaning about. But I've said it all before. Nick Thompson once old me the marketing budget was unlimited providing they believed it'd make more money (makes sense on paper) but nothing seems to have changed since then and we still don't actually do any marketing.

I agree pre-season ends up being a bit boring with games like Harrogate so yeah I'll ask, but I reckon it'll be along the lines of "that's Brucie's domain". Me and Tickler like Winterton though!
