Steering wheel? Bungle translator?? Seems from above the article that his nickname is the ant! However, he is now a Hornet - http://www.futbolecuador.com/stories/publica/45862 Some of the comments below in the article from fans seems he was a bit of a Marmite player for them!
One of them describes him as a "black ****" - the mods are alive and well in Ecuador it wouldn't seem.
Never good, but some do praise him, maybe the others are sad to see him leave, maybe! He's played in the Copa Libertadores, the World Cup and we now have "The Ant" to feed "The Otter." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Carlos_Paredes It could work out well. What does this mean for a certain Lloyd Doyley though? Now being considered as back up!?
Swansea have only just brought a striker in from France and have that Bony guy who did well for us. Deeney would very much be 3rd choice at best I feel there.
I can't really see the point of a 10 million bid at this point. So I would cast doubt on this rumour. Any prospective bidding club will have done their homework and I would assume any new bid would be 'edged' toward the 7 million (plus add-ons) region. You don't go into a car dealership and pay the sticker price after all.
I don't know. There is a story from a few years ago about the Leeds Utd attitude to money. A lad from Crewe, I think, was being offered a contract. Before the meeting the lad's agent said that he wasn't going to accept anything less than £4000 a week. When the Leeds negotiator said that he was offering £8000 a week the jaws of both the agent and the lad dropped in amazement. They were speechless. The Leeds negotiator saw this and promptly said, "Oh well, then! £12000 but I'm not going any higher than that." Maybe apocryphal, but it explains why Leeds are where they are now.
An interesting blog here that goes along the lines that I have been thinking. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/07/08/ross-mccormack-fulham-troy-deeney-watford/
Nice read OFH. Also, 3 more to come in, http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/11333724.Watford_target_three_more_signings/
Looks as if Burnley are looking at cheaper options. http://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport.../burnley-change-focus-to-jutkiewicz-1-6721392
Rumour coming out of Dundee that we are about to sign Gary Mackay-Steven - as well as play a friendly against Dundee United. A handy player in the Will Buckley mould - but would have thought him to be a bit lightweight for the Championship.
http://carrowroad.net/cnews/index.php?post=becchio-interesting-watford '...almost certain to be losing Troy Deeney...' - how dare they!!
That site is not seeking to pass any spelling tests let alone pass on accurate information any time soon....
