I'm in my third season with Rostock. Got promoted from the 3rd division in my 2nd season but didn't have the money to renew any contracts so I started the season with 8 first team players, which considering the season starts in july is a bit of an issue. Drawn 1 lost 1 so far.
I've found Germany is a lot of fun to play on FM. Just finished a network save with a friend of mine where I was Borussia Monchengladbach, and there are a lot of quality players available at decent prices. Might start up a single player game with them now.
Yeah I like the youth system, I think I remember reading Germany has the 2nd highest potential of any nation (after Brazil) when it comes to producing regens. You can't play them until they're 17 though! Which is incredibly frustrating because in my first set of regens I got a 14 year old who was already better than my first choice right back!
3 seasons into my game as Saints. Finished 12th, 7th, 2nd. Got Javier Hernandez on loan last season then bought for £1.4m in January window, he finished with 24 goals in the league! Katherina has given me £20m to get champions league again but I'm in an awkward phase where if I want to improve in any areas I will have to spend £20m at least on a new player, have had no luck finding regens in S. America so have a bit of money but don't know what to do with it. My main weakness is constantly asking board to expand stadium, so thats where all my potential money goes. Had to ground-share with Reading last season! Weird seeing all the news items have our home ground as The Madjeski... Work will be completed in time for new season and St Marys will have a 54,000 seats. Best deal so far - Got Ter-Stegen on a free
Just loading my Birmingham City save up - I took over at the end of the first season. Finished 9th in my first season with a youthful side + David Villa (only 33) somehow up top as player/coach. Scored over 20 goals. Signed Jason Holt from Millwall for £1.5m as my playmaker, and just agreed a deal to send him to Middlesbrough for £4.9m - now to reinvest...

No, it's not that easy to win the league, and I don't really play it for a challenge anyway. I have more fun playing with players and teams that I know.
I found Saints on FM14 to be far easier than it should have been. I've had far more fun playing with other teams on network games, although I am lacking inspiration for finding an actual long term game to play 20 seasons into But then if you play in another country, you can be a hipster when we're linked to players from there
I just failed to get in the playoffs again. Looking for decent wingers on non-contracts or loans and it seems impossible.

I'm starting my 2nd season at Birmingham City. Lost the playmaker but signed Alexander Søderlund from Rosenborg for £475k and Marcello Trotta for £800k. Yeovil wanted £1.8m for Hoskins, although his last three season (all in Champ) his scoring record is: 8, 16, 21. I couldn't justify it based on his stats and scout reports.
