If you haven't been playing recently, the 14.3 patch is now out, with a fully updated January database. :)

Changelist here: http://community.sigames.com/showth...Update-14.3.0-Winter-Transfer-Update-RELEASED

Saints look like you could build a great long-term team with the players you have at the start.

Adam Lallana - Massive upgrade! Looks brilliant.

Calum Chambers

Harry Reed

James Ward-Prowse

Sam Gallagher

Luke Shaw - Wow. Looks crazily good.

A few of the U21/U18 look good too, Sims, Targett and Hesketh in particular.

Sat out the first season, as I usually do.

Took over a relegated West Ham, forced to sell best players. Tried to rebuild and change style and was sacked in November with the team 11th in the Championship.

Owen Coyle comes in and wins his first five in a row, scoring 21 goals in the process.

Anyway, I'm now, somehow, managing Deportivo La Coruña in the Spanish Liga Adelante, so this could be fun.

It's February the 1st and I'm 5 points off of the play-offs.

Why would you start a new save now DTLW? I've banned myself from FM and Civ in an attempt to get into a decent Uni next year.

It's also the reason I've not posted a lot this year.

I've got an old FM campaign going with Saints, but I think I've played it twice. I just get the itch to play the football, so Pro Evo gets played over FM every time. It's the beauty of skills, passes and scoring that appeals to me. That, and my direct input in putting the glamour clubs to the sword. Oh, and the icing on the cake is making sure that players like Wayne Rooney don't get even a sniff at goal, and they get substituted.

It's the little things that mean a lot. ;)

Prowse in my game is in the full England squad instead of Lampard.

I don't know if it's just my save, but at the end of season 3 Chelsea released Thibaut Courtois, picked him up on £50k a week for five years after a trial. Best signing i've made so far.

**** this ****ing game, just drew 0-0 with Norwich leaving this as my league table:

So...what happened?

On my FM13 my team is:

Courtois, Jorginho, Foose, Kamphuis, Shaw, Jose Ramon, Guerrero, Sterling, Ramirez, Chamberlain, Jefferson.

Bought Jefferson for £33million from Santos. His goalscoring record for Saints: played 48 scored 54. Money well spent!

It's my second season -

Valdes
Clyne Lovren Astori Shaw
Wanyama Schneiderlin
Lallana Fernandes Rodriguez
Hernandez

Sold Gaston for 20m to Chelsea. Alexandre Pato joining in Jan as well. Astori and Lovren is a dream CB partnership!

I sold Schneiderlin for 20mill to Barca. But he was 29 at the time and no longer first choice so good deal. Ramirez is quality. You got ripped off LTL, he's worth 28mill for me now.

It was him or Morgan to bring in the big bucks. Sold him for 20 and Osvaldo for 16 to Juve (who took up their option) - that freed up some money to filter back into better wages, hence being able to bring in Valdes and Fernandes on frees. I'm getting prepared to bring JWP in for Morgan next season I think.....

I'm still getting reasonable production out of 34 year old Morgan, so don't give up on him.

No, it's a nice problem to have actually. He's doing a good job and I have JWP to slot straight in for injuries etc. Corky still hanging around as third choice too (have sold Davis to Norwich).

Morgan handed in a transfer request and he wasn't an important player for me so I dropped him to the U21's as punishment until the transfer window opened and sold him.
