I've no doubt he'd improve our team, quite a lot actually, but I just feel there are other foreigners out there who would be a better buy. I can't give any names really but as others have said his immobility is my primary concern. The other 2 big concerns are his twattishness and cheating, and his stupid moustache.

If the Jordan Ayew link has anything in it, he's a real prospect, still young, fast as fook and a very exciting player. Still available and will certainly be cheaper than Snotarse leaving more funds to strengthen elsewhere.

We might be paying a bit much for Livermore and potentially Snodgrass but these two could be part of our driving midfield for the next 3 or 4 years. Certainly the best of Livermore is to come and hopefully if we do get Snodgrass he will be in his prime.

Foreign players are a bigger gamble.

Snodgrass has performed well in a lower Prem team.

Unless he's majorly ****s up, it's hardly a gamble as we get a Prem class player in his prime.

Rather spend that on one than getting a few who struggle to adapt.

Snotarse is a foreigner himself.

Ayew has been plying his trade at one of the quality French sides, at a decent standard in Ligue 1, and a very good standard at champions league level. European experience is another perk he offers, and he's playing at the World Cup. I think he's definitely good enough for us, and if none of that is enough to convince you, he is the son of a certain someone who goes by the name of Pele, that should be enough for anyone. I also think he is from England originally, though I might have just made that up.

Having just checked I did just make that up and he is from France born to a Ghanain mother and a brazilian superhuman god.

French league means **** all in terms of week in/week out Prem standards. Even if you're genuinely good enough - it's a totally different experience.

Admitedly, only seen Ayew in the match v USA.

Though he looked fast but utterly brainless.

It’s going to be fine margins again next season, so I’d go for the tried and trusted.

Decided to search Snodgrass on twitter , and all i read was a load of Sunderland/Baggies squalking about how much he is going to cost and how they dont want him :/

so must be a done deal then :)

Pace is only as good as the end product. So many times last season we didn't have one. It'd be nice if we have a few players who can pick the final pass.

Not as many times as we didn't have pace! Elmo can cross but didn't have the skill to get into a good position so he was always crossing from halfway back up the touchline. He's good at it, but he'd have more success crossing from the byline, and he doesn't really have the skillset to get there often enough.

Snodgrass is a little twat on the pitch, but he is a good player who I'm sure would improve us.

Not just 16million for snodgrass and Livermore but the 13-14million for long and jelavic too. We have our pants pulled down everytime, it's a joke!

Yeah, every time! (*cough* DAVIES, *cough* CHESTER, *cough* MCGREGOR, *cough* QUINN, *cough* HUDDLESTONE...)

If we end up paying £16m for Livermore and Snodgrass, we've been rodgered.

They're both good additions, but that's daft money.

It is a bit worrying isnt it.. I know we paid next to nothing for other players but Livermore & Snodgrass are no way worth what we're apparently paying for them.. Long & Jelavic was different because it was the January window and we desperately needed some strikers to stay in the division. Now we've had all year to scout and find targets and in my eyes there's no way Snodgrass is worth £8m, even if he had 12 years left on his deal let alone 12 months.

The £8m "quoted" in these rags is bullshit...why would we jump up £2m from our original offer of £5-£6m that was "supposedly" rejected?!
