Germany Ghana great game , I think the one I have enjoyed most so far. The determination of both sides was fantastic and just what you need to win matches in this WC.
Two terrific games of entertainment this evening. Unlucky Iran and well done to the plucky Ghana. Two games of end to end stuff.
Germany not looking quite so invincible tonight, although I think we always knew their defence was a possible weak link, especially against pace on the counter.
Best game so far and my African Warriors failed to get the win they deserved! bloody Germans! Some great defending from Ghana to stop Germany nicking the win, just hope Portugal can defeat the USA tomorrow and set up Ghana v Portugal as a great game as both teams will play to win. But Ghana really have some superb players, easily the best African team at this tournament but in the hardest group.
ITV commentator trying to start an international incident by saying the Iranians had their Christian names on their shirts.
I'm not sure getting a sliver of the ball before hacking someone over means it isn't a foul. In any case the ref gave a goal kick so clearly didn't see the touch on the ball.
So the ref that wrongly disallowed Mexico a couple of goals against Cameroon has been sent home. I'm assuming the ref responsible for Bosnia's elimination will be following suit.
Can't blame the ref for that one. Purely down to an awful decision by the linesman, if you're talking about that offside decision in the first half. Dzeko was absolutely miles on. Very poor. please log in to view this image
At least 5 teams are out, and the second round of group games have even completed. Don't think tis common for say 6 teams to be out by the end of the second round. Could be wrong though.
If both players were moving at 20 feet per second then the difference between 'miles on' (about 2 feet by the look of it) and miles off will be about 1/10 sec. In real time it is easily possible to misjudge the time the pass was made by that amount. It's unrealistic to expect these decisions to be right more than half of the time
Surely a performance not much worse than the ref in the first game with his decisions in favour of Brazil. But that is part of FIFA's script so there's no chance he will be going home - may even get the final if Brazil are in it!
Just seen a comment on this page http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27963053 Saying this was the second youngest squad England have taken to the finals. With the way people were reacting you'd think this was the youngest, boldest squad ever. So which squad was the younger?
<quote> Former England defender Danny Mills, part of the Football Association commission that has a four-point plan to improve the fortunes of the national team, gives his view on what needs to happen next. We need more quality The FA commission got slaughtered when we gave our ideas to help the national team but, unless things change, England are not going to get any better. What we have found at this World Cup is that England have too few quality players to choose from, and the ones we have got are not comfortable on the ball under pressure. </quote>
"I see Harry was talking about Aaron Lennon there" 1. Was he the worst Spurs offender ?? 2. With his hamstrings, I would think he would want to minimise playing, period.
To be honest RDBD, I don't know who all the "two or three" players are who Harry mentions. Just happen to know Aaron Lennon is definitely one of them.
Trying to do a process of deduction, and there ain't too many Spurs players during Arrys' time to choose from (assuming "full" = seniors) . Ledley would play if he could. Scotty no doubt came to Spurs as one benefit would be to improve his chances of getting a place in the Euro 2012 squad etc.
I would eliminate Ledley, Dawson and Defoe immediately from Harry's "two or three". Almost certainly Parker and Walker. Not sure about Tommy.
