Callum Wilson, anyone? http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...brentford-news-transfer-rumours-bees-7270384?
Young, Pacey, decent finisher would fit with the sort of players adams likes wouldn't want him to be first choice here but would be a useful change mid game though again he's another different type of striker I do wonder if in the Championship we'll want 5 strikers not 4. I also think Becchio might well be the first out the door.
Looks more likely than McCormack, IMO. Adams seems to like pace and a breakaway threat as part of the picture next year. I'd prefer Deeney who has scored well in the Championship, but Wilson could be a useful alternative.
More talk about Snodgrass moving on. http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/hull-poised-to-beat-west-ham-in-the-race-for-norwich-winger111/ West Ham "put off" by the club's valuation of the player - what were they expecting, a cut price mass exodus?
According to that, the original source was The People, which doesn't make it all that reliable. I'm sure there'd be more about it if a deal had been agreed. Creative journalism, IMO.
There's no way they'd be put off by £4m, nor that we would accept that, even though Snodders only has one year left on his contract
Doubt Snoddy would go for anything less than £5mil and even then I think he'd have to say he wants to go. He's a proven player at Prem level and will guarentee you goals and assists. I think it's pretty reasonable to ask a high price.
Well, if they deem Andy Carroll worthy of a £15m price tag, I can't see too many issues with £4-£5m for Snodders!
Agree with this, but even £5m would be cheap for a proven player in the PL who scores goals as well. Pure specualtion, IMO, but should something happen it depends on whether he wants to stay or go. Presumably we have an option after the one year left?
Latest reports in the people suggest snodgrass going to Hull in a 4 million pound deal. Little cheap IMO but only one year left on contract not a bad amount I guess
I'll be really pissed if that's true, epic fail if we were to sell him for such a low amount. We're in an incredibly strong position money wise and he's under contract personally anything under £7m is too low. Unless he throws his toys out of the pram and wants to go in which case we might have to consider lower figures. If he's not mentioned it the figure has to be high to put people off him. Same for any of our players we intend to keep, unless they want away slap stupid money on them
i think you're being wildly optimistic rich. he's in the final year of his contract, free to talk about bosman moves in january. anything around the £5m mark would be a very good deal. and do you know what, i think hull would be a pretty sensible move too. european football next season remember, so a decent challenge for him. i doubt he'd get into many top half sides.
I'm not being optomistic chap, I don't want him sold hence slap a silly figure on him to put other clubs off. Obviously that only works if he isn't trying to force a change. The point being we don't need to sell him, so if anyone wants him it's going to cost them an arm and a leg
i see. i still think its daft to put such a huge fee on his head. he's arguably our most saleable asset right now and with his deal running down, unless he signs a new one this summer, i feel selling him is the best option and £5m would be more than fair and very useful. i'm not convinced anyone would pay £7m for him even if he had more than a year left so to that level, your strategy would work but i think we'd be cutting off our nose to spite our face! we're not short of options out wide and i doubt he'll stick around after next season. it'd be a tougher pill to swallow were he to leave for nowt
Agreed, I'd rather we get a decent fee than bugger all ! I think Murphy will be a shoe in for next season & with Redders, Pilks & Benno there's plenty of options.
