I'm not usually one for this back and forth 'I'm right' stuff but I'll make an exception. Exactly what part of my last post was wrong?
I don't know where I suggested or anyone suggested we were. You said "How many other 'crap' players do you know who have been sold for £22m recently?" So I gave you one. And that £22m was 5 years ago now. That's a long time in football.
^^This...who do people really expect us to sign?!! Any club below 10th would be mental not to take Fellaini on loan for a season...experience, goals and can do the dirty stuff that most players whimp out of these days.
I didn't say Lescott was crap either. If you read the full thread you'll see that I like the idea of us signing him. As I said before, you asked "How many other 'crap' players do you know who have been sold for £22m recently?" So I gave you one. Maybe you should read things before you respond.
We would be mad not to take lescott if he is willing to move , anyone against care to give examples of were we can find better for cheaper ?
Maybe Williams or Dawson on wages.....but we'll have to pay £3m+ in a transfer fee for each...money down the pan if you consider their ages.
You think he's a talented footballer. I think he has always used his elbows more than his feet. Being included in the world cup does not necessarily mean you are fabulous. Look at some of the average players we have taken.
This was my first thought. I do hope not. While being ideal for the left side of a back three and more than competent as a regular back four CB, Lescott could also play LB in a back four for us.
11 goals with his elbows? Granted he's a bit of an edgy dirty git but he's a big, strong and very talented attacking midfielder who offers a distinct goal threat and likes getting stuck in. Your World Cup argument is flimsy, Belgium have an incredible squad and he's been a focal part of their starting XI. Have you noticed that there must be loads of us smoking something funny? Seems the majority on here rate him.
I can't see him coming. Whenever we're linked with a big name player like this it always goes tits up. He'll go somewhere else. I'm reminded of Zamora, Fortune, Campbell, Negredo and Owen, for some reason.
"In November 2011 he signed a new five-year contract with the club.[20] He finished the season having won the most tackles, aerial duels and made more passes than anyone else at the club. He won the second highest number of tackles in the league and won possession of the ball 190 times, the most out of any player. In the opening game of the 2012–13 Premier League season against Manchester United, Fellaini received plaudits for his outstanding performance, as he scored the only goal in a 1–0 victory.[22] He continued the season in great form with goals against Arsenal, Manchester City, Sunderland and Fulham amongst others. Fellaini was subsequently awarded Premier League Player of the Month for November 2012. And to seal the deal Fellaini was banned for three matches by the Football Association on 17 December 2012 after headbutting Ryan Shawcross He's a good player and we'd be lucky to get him, which we wont. But to say you dont think he's any good is crazy.
There's being "linked" with someone (ie media bullshit) and actually making a firm offer, though. We're linked with 50 players for every one that we actually try seriously to sign (as appears to be the case with Lescott). The Owen one was always bullshit, and let's face it, Negredo was just Duffen talking out of his arse. PS Fortune, a big name???? Shurely shome mishtake?
Not exactly loads. A few maybe. I suspect a few might agree with me. And why would I suddenly change my mind just cos a few people on here disagree with me. Seems like a lot of Everton fans were keen to be rid. Now Man Utd fans too. Are we all wrong and a few on here are right? Hhmm.
