didnt realise he's 31. He was excellent at Everton, never seemed comfortable at Man City.

I thought in their first title winning season and the one before he was pretty good, the last 2 years he's dropped off but he's been in 1 week and out the next.

Also won't be helped playing next to Kompany whose so good that it highlights the tiniest mistake his partner makes.

That's a solid back 3 if we get him....

£7-£9m in wages over 2 years for a defender of Lescott's quality is good business.

Very impressive if it comes off.

Add to that livermore, bertrand, and maybe ince and we would have a strong first XI (and realistic)

Would love him to sign, but from what ive heard/read about him in the past, he'll be after more money and signing elsewhere. You get players that are willing to take a pay cut to play every game, he isnt one of them im afraid..

He'll want ridiculous wages.

Plus, being an ex England player (until recently) he'll get other offers from bigger clubs.

Very good business indeed, if you're intention was to drive away your current centre halves into the transfer market. If so, why not get a 31 year old in on a free and pay them three times as much as the ones we have.

If we've made him an offer, it'll be a fairly realistic one so I'd consider us in with a decent shout.
No other club offering him a deal will have European football next season. That could count for a fair bit when it's something he's been used to for the last few seasons.

Sky sources understand that Hull City have made an offer for former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott, who is a free agent.

The deal on offer from Steve Bruce is understood to be for an initial two years with a third year as a option.

Bruce is keen to bolster his squad for next season as Hull prepare for European football in the Europa League and he hopes to win the race for Lescott's signature.

Lescott was not offered a new deal by City when his deal ran out earlier this summer with the England defender dropping down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium.

Lescott joined City from Everton for a fee of around £22m in August 2009 - and made 92 Premier League appearances, scoring seven goals.

Several Premier League sides, including Aston Villa and West Ham, have expressed interest in the England defender but he has also options abroad, with German side Schalke and Al Ain in the UAE also reported to be keen on his services
