Somehow stayed awake through it, i guess I thought that if I went to sleep then I would miss something. At full time I was less than impressed and at 0500 when my alarm went off this morning even more so.

I guess no one was really going to bust their gut and get injured but that really was poor. Sturridge just trys to do it all on his own and even if he doesn't get tackle gets forced backwards and passes back the the defence so we have to start again. Maybe we should drop him and play Rooney up top with Adam in the number 10 role.

Well I thought England were good last night. Some chances should have been taken but the passing in tight spaces was good.

I think they were good in patches, but the fear of getting injured against some pretty brutal tackles must have weighed on their minds. In a competitive game, Honduras would have been down to about 8. That Celtic fullback's moment of madness was a straight red every day.

Imagine if Channel 4 went for it. Jimmy Carr, Sean Lock and Joe Wilkinson in the studio, and commentary by the guy who narrates Come Dine With Me.

I didn't see it but I can only guess Jimmy Carr made some pretty controversial jokes.

England's performance was promising. As Gerrard highlighted the best result was no one getting injured against such a dirty team.

Twitter went into complete meltdown over a friendly. I assume they are the sort of people who haven't been to many pre season friendly's.

Well.......I’ll not make you reading a whole page post. Lol

Love Lambert but think we have better options and Rooney is still better no matter how many people hate him.

Exactly my point. Rooney gets slated but his problem is not his ability, attitude or performance as such. It is because he does too much and gets frustrated so much that he ends up giving up on England’s midfield and goes to fetch the ball himself.

Needs a good manager to say to him ‘Stay up front’ otherwise drop him and put a striker in that will stay up front. That player could be Sturridge if again a strong manager tells him it is a team game.

If that were the case though and a strong manager needs to have a word with both of them then Rooney is the better player, better option.

You can see from last night Lallana has been told to hold position. For Saints he comes deeper and has a free role. For England he is staying away from the midfielders. Pity because if he were allowed the freedom that Rooney assumes he has/is given by manager, he could do so much more.

And Countdown. Joe Wilkinson would say exactly what i/we are thinking/saying.......Pass the ball Sturridge you selfish f*****. Would only do the second half though. Would make games much easier with Rachel Riley as a pundit before, during and after the game.

Read earlier that David Beckham has commented that Wayne Rooney scares opponents. I don't know about that, but he scares me.

I said I'd start Lambert over Sturridge. I didn't mention Rooney. If you want to get the best out of Rooney, Lallana and whoever plays in the three behind the striker then you must play Lambert.

Wouldn't surprise me. He didn't play very well against Honduras.
