Think you and me are watching different matches. He's been one if our better players, not that that's saying much.
Fairly uninspiring, but no injuries, and I'll bet that to a certain degree there was a lot of playing within themselves there. We're not exactly bristling with intent just yet though! Let's see, I'm sure it'll improve for the tournament proper.
Was optimistic about getting out of the group after Wednesday, but tonight's/this morning's game was typical England really: uninspiring, frustrating, and boring. Fell asleep from 50 mins until 70. And Sturridge was awful.
My match ratings: Hart - 6 Johnson - 4 Cahill - 7 Jagielka - 7 Baines - 6 Gerrard - 7 Henderson - 7 Lallana - 7 Rooney - 5 Welbeck - 6 Sturridge - 5 Forster - 6 Wiltshire - 5 Barkley - 7 Lambert - 5 Lampard - 6
Only positive I can really see is that Honduras were so defensive; neither Italy or Uraguay will defend so deep and attack so little, which will give England a bit more space and chance to attack with more pace.....maybe
Good choice of sleep period. Tbf, any time would have been a good choice. Here come the platitudes from the pundits.
ITV, positives you say? Better book a plane ticket for Nigel Adkins if you want those. Nigel and Ralph in the studio = positives galore.
Especially with the added 40 mins due to the weather, there was no way I could stay awake for it all. Sturridge was horrendous. He missed lots of chances, was his usual greedy self, made poor decisions, and dived at least twice. Poor, poor, poor.
Barkley was bright again. It may not always pay off, but he runs out defenders and is always positive with the ball. Good to watch. Adam also looked above the rest tonight.
