In place of Chester?

I think we are more likely to bring in another centre back.

He's not going to get in ahead of Chester, but then Chester isn't going to play every game.

We have five centre backs this season, we'll have five centre backs for next season, but it will be Faye who'd replaced, not McShane.

McShane will not be considered as a full back.

Just heard from a mate that they have just been to the ticket office and bought two £45.00 tickets , no queues either !. Thought only had £115 tix left ?

"do you believe that a cup run (no hindsight, please!) was more critical to our success than PL survival?"

PL survival is more important but I would still put out a strong team in all first team games.

Remember the context of the discussion. It was about whether fans should go even when the club wasn't making a serious effort to win matches. They may have won them this season but the last few seasons have been a disaster in the cup.

That may not be his preferred position but given we lack cover at full back I wouldn't be surprised if he plays as a full back at some stage.

To suggest that McShane is primarily a fullback suggests you haven't supported the team in the last few years. He is clear third choice CB and has had some very good games in that position this season when Chester has been injured. If you'd suggested that I hadn't followed the team in 2008 I'd have told you to **** off as well. , because it wax a ****'s comment, made embarassing by your lack of current knowledge.

Chocolate finger, anyone?

When did I suggest that McShane was primarily a full back?

I love the keyboard warrior hard man image some people like to project on here. Don't forget to compare it with how you act when you are face to face with people.

Yes, if I count using skin particles.

Does anybody think McShane is going to play regularly for us as centre back?

He played 25 games last season, just over half of them. Considering he didn't even make his first appearance until about 10 games into the season and had two fairly bad injuries I'd consider him to be a regular.

This season he's obviously not played as much, but IIRC he started the season injured, played once Chester got injured and then got injured himself at the start of February.

McShane is comfortably our third choice centre back, and definitely shouldn't be singled out as being part of a 'weakened' team. Especially when James Chester was making his return from injury himself!

It's official I've done feck all today apart from mash the number into the phone and mobile, even got other people here trying as well - feel sorry for the poor lass who normally picks up the phone when you buy tickets must be proper rubbish with the phones there today for it to be constantly engaged.
