It's finding a family member whose not working or away. Gone are the days when we were lucky to have a 100 or so travelling down sarf for a game, oh the perils of success....

Rubbish, he's a decent centre back and a terrible full back.

I didn't mean to upset you. I didn't support Hull City all my life either.

Of course players can be played in the wrong position. McShane first played for us at full back and did reasonably well and then he played at centre back and was terrible. It was only later that he's been reasonable in both positions.

I did ask about ranking McShane among other similar present City players, you can differentiate positions as well if you wish. Do you want to do that?

He was certainly reasonable at full back when he first played for us followed by being terrible as centre back. It's only after going out on loan that he improved.

They said they were allocating tickets between in person and phone. It should be nearly all phone now.

Pointless discussion, I've watching him in pretty much every game he's ever played for us, you can probably count the amount of times you've seen him play on one finger.

Still, at least McShane knows where he plays - "Last season was a turning point really. I played a lot of games and back in my natural position of centre-back."

I said 4 hours ago that Macca's natural position is at CB. At RB he is being played out of position.

Managers field a team according to their prioritised objectives - for instance, do you believe that a cup run (no hindsight, please!) was more critical to our success than PL survival?

You have an odd, but insulting manner of making your poor points, but nevertheless, what is also obvious to me is that a player might not move to another 'lower' club, nor will his game particularly improve of deteriorate; instead, another player(s) might lose form, or be injured, which will allow your so-called weak player to take precedence - that, in turn, can act as a catalyst to improvement - have you ever heard of 'getting match minutes in'? It's a moving feast; that's why we have squads, not just for replacement, but competition, also. <ok>

    Definitely ahead of Bruce. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Your comments and criticism lacks any timeline or context; basically it is bullshit.

I would agree that he did have a spell when he covered RB in a reasonable way (as you say), but that is the best that can be said, as we needed better than reasonable - but in the context of the available squad then, I supported him. His time (then) as CB was in a back four that PB had managed to screw as only he could. It was fraught with injuries, ineptness and PB's stupidity. He lost his way, as did a few, which was hardly surprising, then his Dad died. I believe that along that journey he suffered injuries, too. He was well thought of at his loan clubs. Bruce brought him back and, bit by bit, he gave him opportunities and McShane took them. He took the one's available, but when CB came he made a huge claim for it, when playing amongst decent larkers; he'll come back from injury and do the same again - do not underestimate the tenacity of the guy; he is exactly the type of player I would want against Arsenal in a cup final. Your whole argument is flawed as it is built on a false premise.

His father, Sean, was furious he was being played at RB. We had a few jars, after the Newcastle away win, in my local (he lived just across the road) our first PL stint (it might of been the FA Cup, thinking back - a piss wet through Tuesday night in January). The point is Sean berated Brown as a fool for using Paul as a RB and not persevering with him as a CB - how right he was! He was also an excellent bloke and his sudden death gutted Paul and added to his time in the wilderness.

Yes, if I count using skin particles.

Does anybody think McShane is going to play regularly for us as centre back?

I picked up a couple of mates from the KC last night and the stewards i talked to said that the ticket office was staying open until 10pm.

It would have been quicker to go in person maybe ??

    That is a crazy comment.

I say “when he first played for us” and “followed by being” and “after going out on loan”

And you still accuse me of “Your comments and criticism lacks any timeline or context; basically it is bullshit.”

I think we have a different understanding of timeline.

If you live in Hull it would be quicker to go in person but then you would have tried to go yesterday if possible. If you lived in another part of the UK or in another country it is less sensible to go in person.

    In place of Chester?

I think we are more likely to bring in another centre back.

To suggest that McShane is primarily a fullback suggests you haven't supported the team in the last few years. He is clear third choice CB and has had some very good games in that position this season when Chester has been injured. If you'd suggested that I hadn't followed the team in 2008 I'd have told you to **** off as well. , because it wax a ****'s comment, made embarassing by your lack of current knowledge.

    Chocolate finger, anyone?
