Macca has always been a CB. He was played out of position at RB. This has always been the case. I'd rank him equal and maybe slightly ahead of Chester. Chester can make some right howlers. Very rare that Macca does that now. Until his injury one of out best players.
A player will play the position the manager instructs him to play; if that is out of position then you must look at the reasons the manager has taken into account to issue those instructions. You are far too black and white, which shows a lack of understanding. The performances of Paul McShane, under the management and coaching of Steve Bruce and Steve Agnew has been a credit to them all; your opinions are fixed and not influenced by progressive reality, for both game improvement and deterioration. Elmo plays at fullback because of other issues within the team - it's not a deliberate weakening. I consider it daft in it's context. Where had the club ever said that? They played a team that matched and bettered the opposition; that's the job of the manager, thankfully and not of the accountant. Accountants move financial transactions to benefit a business, football managers do the same with their playing squad; if that means that certain players are aimed at certain competitions, it is simply a strategy. When do these weak players move, for you, out of that category?
I'm sure plenty of teams regret taking your attitude. Several teams put out a weakened side against Sheffield United and other lower league opposition and lost. If they had done all they could to win the games in the competition they entered they may be in the final now. "Weak players" move out of that category when they improve their ability or change to a "weaker" club. Isn't it obvious?
I can only remember one appearance for McShane at right back this season and he was terrible in that game, he's most definitely a centre back, he's a disaster anywhere else. He's also definitely ahead of Bruce in the pecking order.
It's only weakened because of injuries and ineligibility. Not taking my wife because she doesn't like football but she was phoning on two mobiles while I phoned on one mobile and one landline. The phone that got through was one that she was phoning on so I am grateful to her! She's lovely though. She said that if I couldn't get tickets from Hull City I should pay £450 (now £650!) a ticket from that website that's offering them. http://www.ticket4football.com/fa-c...CPfIw8DhjL4CFYrjwgodJaQARA#.UzvC-aLSxUw?ppc=1
What's snide and wrong? If by snide you mean that it was before he supported the club I thought he was pretty young and five/six years ago he might not have known that McShane played all his matches for us at full back.
When I applied for tickets they checked that I'd bought two for the semi but I wonder if I phoned again would they have a record that I'd already bought two final tickets or would they just see that I'd bought two for the semi and let me buy another two for the final. I prefer how Arsenal allocated tickets. Admittedly they have a lot more season ticket holders.
But he probably would have known that five/six years ago Steve Bruce wasn't our manager, he is now and plays McShane at centre back.
I suppose you live a long way from Hull but if you are near the ground you can just go straight in the ticket office with no queues!
Live in High Wycombe - work at Heathrow; tried to get the day off but it's mental here..... If someone wants to queue up for me.....
I think McShane can play anywhere in the back four although not first choice. We'll have to see next season how McShane fits into the defence. I can't see him playing in the final but I would play McGregor if he's fit. I expect that would piss off Harper a great deal!
You can **** off, you prick. Forget me trying to argue reasonably anymore. Surprisingly, players can be played in the wrong position, you know...
