Me neither. And I don't care if we're the first club mentioned or the last. A club can't put an offer in until a transfer window opens and it's just as likely to be knocked back anyhow. That's exactly the same for transfers in or out.
Incidentally, when does the transfer window open this summer..? Date please.
On the other hand, you do want to buy them before they perform well in front of the world and their value skyrockets.
You can put an offer in anytime you like, and it can be accepted, personal terms agreed, etc. It's just the transfer of the player's registration that can't happen outside the window.
And I believe it opens the day after the season ends.
Didn't say they had agreed a contract yet, but they have talked at least.

Typically, I knew I'd get the last answer, hence the date please request. I wanted to be the lazy one for once.
Bound to have had preliminary talks and agreed to thrash things out in the summer...not contradictory.

There are two transfer windows in each Barclays Premier League season.
The first commences at midnight on the last day of the season and ends on 31 August if a working day - or, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.
The second transfer window commences at midnight on the 31 December and ends on the 31 January if a working day, and again, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.
Temporary transfers can be made permanent outside of the transfer windows

Well the season ends on May 11th, so the window opens at midnight on May 12th, for domestic transfers at least.
Yep, part of the reason I am 99% sure he will sign a new contract.
I always thought that teams could agree transfers but they can't go through until 1st July.
It's common for them to wait until then because contracts usually end on the 30th of June, but no reason they can't do them earlier. We signed Jay Rodriguez on June 10th, for example: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/jun/10/jay-rodriguez-southampton-transfer
Nothing stopping that from happening...after all there are often several very early transfers which must have had the details sorted prior to the transfer window.
