Presumably, Les Reed is going to have to come out with this statement every week until the idiots get the message:

But, Shaw is happy to stay at Southampton

 

that piece of quality reporting is saying 20 million, last week Shaw was worth 30 million (or at least that was what manure were reportedly paying us for him). Has his value dropped that much in a week?

 

Well that couldn't' have been much plainer.

He said he was happy here and had a lot to learn, but also added the usual mantra about concentrating on the games left and see what happens. None of them will actually promise to stay because, even if there are no concrete offers now, they won't close the door. Suspect it isn't the club schooling them in what to say, but their agents: even if you think you will stay at Saints, say nothing for certain whilst we are trying for a new contract or there is still a chance of an unrefusable offer coming in.

 

Liverpool's offer for Adam is (apparently) 15 million...that is frankly insulting. I know Adam is practically drawing his pension compared with Luke, but Luke is a LB for heaven's sake.

 

I suspect the club has schooled them in what to say - note that they are all using exactly the same phrase, from MP down.

I am soooooo bored of the continued drivel in the media about our manager and players leaving I am now ignoring it all. Les came out with a very simple and direct message last week and can't see that has changed at all and until the club makes an official decision I will ignore everything else as its all Bull****!
Let concentrate on our potential targets for next season and keep positive

 

It's nice that Chelsea "have been given the green light" to bid for Shaw.
That must be the reason we've had no bids yet from other clubs.
They all want to bid, but the traffic lights are stuck on red.

Nice article...though where has he got the idea that Krueger is giving out mixed messages about Katharina's future at the club. I think we have been told she intends to keep SFC ever since Nicola left. Also KL may have no love of football as such, but that doesn't mean she has no affection for Southampton. She is there every match when she must have many other calls on her time.

 

we just have to accept that all of our players are leaving, and they are all going to Chelsea and Man Utd and Arsenal (well those under 19 ), and Liverpool, and MP is off to Tottenham/any other club the red tops print. The really good news is that once we have sold Shaw 4 times for £30 million, and Adam 4 times for £40 million we will have £280 million to invest in the squad! Happy days.

 

I totally agree. However, I have to smile that when we read about who we might be interested in we tend to think it is gospel.

 

Perhaps you need to watch the Les Reed video too. There are no offers. So Liverpool's offer could be 50p or £500M. It doesn't exist, except in the so-called mind of a hack sports journo who wants to create a headline.

 

The offer could have been made since. been a whole week ya know. lol.

I'm not at all worried about this though. I think Pochettino will stay and Shaw is my only slight doubt. Looking forward to next season all geed up after our stars help England 'over-achieve' and get through their group. lol

 

You mean the rumour has been made since..! As I said, Les is going to have to re-transmit the video each week for the weak minded.

I'm not even beginning to think about being worried. There is nothing to be worried about. My ribs are sore because I tripped and fell into something hard, jarring them. Now that's a worry. Getting better though.

I wondered why searching the transfer rumours thread led to nothing. it wasn't the transfer rumours thread.

happy that we're being linked with a succession of goalies even if the sources aren't reliable.

 

I'm betting most teams are scouting and considering players, but won't make offers until the end of the season. This will be delayed further by the WC...don't want to buy someone who does his cartilages badly.

 

Anything on incomings?

Or new contracts? i.e Cork, Poch etc.?
