Danny Ings for me. He is young, English, was born and brought up in the area, has terrific movement, and is quite quick.

Indeed. Ings would be very high on my list, as well...but with promotion looking all but inevitable for Burnley, I cannot imagine that he'll be going anywhere.

Yes, by all means let's everyone prioritize quick players who we think work hard and "want to wear the shirt" and let's sign them long-term and play on notions of loyalty. And then every four years you can all be mystified again as to why England sucks and has no creative players and why LeTiss never got picked.

Everyone on the US team is in prime physical condition, works hard, will run for days, and wants to be on the team. They're worthless. I would trade them all for Suarez.

In fairness, while I despise the typical English notion of good old hard working blood-and-guts grafters being the way to go (which, yes, is one of the reasons the national team sucks) Danny Ings has actually been really good this season.

I would also like him at Saints but he would probably cost £10milion.

Ings and Rhodes are both top strikers who could make the step up. I don't think the same of Austin or Vokes.

Is Ings out if contract? If not, what makes anyone think Burnley will sell him? Vokes is injured for a long time and they will be promoted.

Ings would love to come here, but also says how much Burnley is his second home. It would take about 10m to get him which I think is too much.

Sorry Beefy... you think Burnley would sell him just after getting promoted? I can't see them entertaining that.

If the price is right any one is for sale.

This is what people have said about our players over the last few years...isn't true (unless you talk about completely ridiculous money....which we wouldn't pay anyway).

Also depends on the reason for a sale. Selling a player in order to finance the purchase of players that are needed more could be construed as good business rather than indicate that a club is a selling club. Most clubs wouldn't want to sell a good goal scorer though.

Personally I think we are fine attacking wise with the players we have and those coming through. I think if we are going to spend anything in the summer, it should be on defence, i.e. backup for Shaw (if Targett isn't ready) and a new quality CB for the first team. I think Fonte and Hooveild will do as backup for now. We could also do with a new Keeper.

Basically we should only need to buy in positions our academy doesn't seem to be good at producing.
