Racing from Southwell, Kempton, and Newton Abbot.

One for me tomorrow:

2:20 Kempton - Gabriel's Wawa 2/1.

Slow away last time but good headway late on. Booking of Kirby a plus.

Good luck all.

2.50 Heisman

I wish I had got the £4 worth of 15/1 that someone had offered on Betfair yesterday afternoon!! He is trading at 3s this morning and whilst I wouldn't go mad, I think he is going to be the real deal and one to be with today. It looks an interesting little maiden with horses from Juddmonte and Godolphin plus the two Teofilo's in the line up. We might just see a good horse today at Kempton Park.

Why do you think he's going to be so good Nass?

Firstly, he looks like a beast.

However, the most important thing was what happened on the stable tour. One of the people on the tour asked for horses to follow this season, and straight away Olly said Heisman was the one. He then went on about how the horse got the name, why they chose it and why he likes him so much. He was saying that he is working with the two big juvenile race winners in the yard and can keep up with them in a full on gallop, yet he is going to be a middle distance horse. He was so authoritative with his views on Heisman.

Then he said, "I think we have a horse who will run into at least a place in the Guineas, the filly Lightning Thunder". He was really sweet on her too, but the fact he went for Heisman as his number one selection said it all for me.

Add in the following quote from Hetta (his wife and formerly at Henrietta Knights yard) - "...Heisman, who runs on the opening day of the flat season, might be our first chance of a really smart middle distance horse."

I'm waiting for horses named Gabrial's Bellend, Gabrial's Knobsack and Gabrial's Bumfluff .....................

Morning, all. And that greeting goes especially, today, to the old ‘April Fools’ amongst us. Great to see action at God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot, again but am most disappointed that said card doesn’t contain a ‘selling hurdle’. Newton Abbot without a ‘selling hurdle’ isn’t cricket in my book.

Cor blimey, Nass, old boy, you seem very assured re this Heisman beast. In fact I haven’t heard such confidence since the Captain of the old Titanic scoffed, ‘Iceberg...don’t be so bally dappy!’ Hope he obliges for you. The breeding of the Sir Michael pair though is exemplary as the dam of one won the ‘Breeders Cup Fillies and Mare’ and the other the ‘Chevely Park’.

Oddy, one ran last week called ‘Run Fat Lass Run’ so these days anything can pass the ‘Naming Committee’. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one on the forum who when that aforementioned one ran was so distressed that I had to lie down in a darkened room for half an hour.

Good luck, troops.

I do recall that being the day I needed a splash more gin with the old tonic Sir Barney <yikes>

Nothing wrong with a bit of confidence old boy, I am not claiming him to be the reincarnation of the battleship Bismarck, but lets see if he is any good today. I say, on another widely differing point, what are our council doing to us? 10% rise in bus fares for us living out near the beautiful Malmesbury. 10% I tell thee, I could get an extra bit of gin with my tonic for that.

Wiltshire Council, the Jim Best of all councils. I wouldn't trust them with your money old boy.

Heisman caught my eye for some reason, but if they think hes that good why is running today at Kempton?

He was due to run at Donny on Saturday but the ground went against him, this was the backup plan. Guess they want to see how he gets on at a racecourse before putting him up a level. To be fair, this race is probably as strong as most maidens you will see on the turf in the next few weeks.

I couldn’t agree more, old boy. Ridiculous increase. Rather than having Jim Best we deserve Mr Henderson type quality!

Still at least you have got the huge advantage over me of not having to live under a ‘Liberal Democrat’ MP. Although hopefully I’ve only got a year or so of that left...

Final decs out for Thursday’s ‘Betfred Bowl’ and ‘Aintree Hurdle’. Just 6 and 7 runners respectively, people. Although Grandouet and Rock on Ruby back over hurdles in the latter heat.

Dynaste & The New One double - HAVE IT with a capital H and a bally old capital I

lads I'm heading up to manchester for the weekend and if I can coax my cousin I'm staying with into going then I may get a chance to get to the Grand National!!

So anyone advise me where to get tickets or which ones to go for? I see the steeplechase enclosure ones are only £21...seems decent!
