Ruptured is a generic term for damaged, it could be anything from mild bruising to a tear.

Depending on the extent of the damage and which parts of the kidney are injured it could be season ending. If surgical intervention required could be full recovery but out for a long time or kidney may not recover. Fingers crossed it may just need watchful wait.
