It may not be all about History, I am pointing out the errors in your argument. That is all. I would not start throwing insults around because of your views. You are entitled to your opinion. The truth is you just don't like the idea, and this is fine. However I believe you are putting to much emphasis on tradition and history and was merely pointing out that to the FA the importance of tradition is selective. Changes have made no difference to the popularity of our sport and in some instances have enhanced it.

The FA have thrown it out because it's a **** idea. They did not believe his business plan was sound.

The excellent CTWD presentation incorporated many differing arguments as to why the name change should not be permitted.

Other stakeholders also contributed.

The business plan presented by the Allams must have been seen by the FA as flawed & lacking in substance.

But who are they to make a decision on his business plan? All they can argue is that it will be detrimental to the game. I would argue they have no proof that it will be when they can and have made changes with no downturn in popularity. I don't think there would be a court in the land that would back the FA on this and for that reason expect it to be Allams final push for the change. If he gets backing in his ballot i think this will be his next step.

Erm.... the governing body of the club he owns?

It's a members club you abide by the rules. No court needed.

I wonder when you sheep will stop bleeting about this.
thte FA won't go ahead with the name change... the knuckle draggers have won.
simple as.
it won't make 1 iota of difference to me - I will still keep supporting my team no matter what.

"I will only support them if they are called Hull City" smacks of "I will only support them if theyre in the premier league".... ****ing children.

So does that apply to Happy, who says he wouldn't support the club if the colours changed?

I hate the council so much I'll change the name of Hull City is a lot more childish. I wonder what else he's prepared to do in his vendetta against the City Council?

Watching games on the internet isn't really supporting the team.

on an earlier thread (cant be arsed to trawl through all your pages of **** to find it) you claimed, and I quote "I don't call fans for not attending the games, a fan is a fan in my book" oh how you have changed your stance.

such a shame to know that you go back on your word so easily.. must be a shallow thing - either that or a senility thing.. please enlighten us, we are all dying to know

but that whole fiasco doesn't affect me as a fan.. or at least it shouldn't.
I don't really care what happens off the pitch.
my life is effected by what happens on the pitch.

Nope, you're building another strawman and making assumptions about what I may or may not like, and you've avoided posting any evidence to support your theories, and ignored people who have taken the time to offer justified arguments.

You've started with an opinion of people and seem hell bent on sticking to it, no matter how wrong you're shown to be.

It wasn't just the FA, it was stakeholders who are experts in the field. The expert opinion offered by Mr Allam was discredited by the expert he quoted.

The only evidence you've produced to dispute it working is self serving articles written by journalists and other people who need to feed their desire for attention or page counts. You haven't, to my recollection, provided examples of any English Football Clubs who changed their name in pursuit of more financial backing, and failed at it. Yet you insist anyone who dares challenge you provides exactly the type of evidence you can't or won't provide yourself.

Quite clearly changing the name of the FA Cup, League Cup and the names of the English Football Leagues has paid dividends for the FA and the hierarchy of English football, which is obviously the point ILTD is trying to make, and you are purposefully ignoring it.

As you will with this post, replying with what you consider an intellectual and superior put down. Go on Dutch, impress me, actually respond properly.

Forgive me if I find the considered opinion of experts in their field a tad more robust than some ****wit that posts as a garden gnome on a message board.
