Yer at the wind up.

Comparing voting demographic of towns/shires within a country against the demographic of Scotland.

No I'm not. You could draw a line from Bristol to The Wash and below that line it'd be 90% Tory - independence for Wessex, Sussex, Essex, Middlesex and Anglia.

Can we not just draw a line between just south of Gretna and just north of Berwick and that'll do us . You can keep the rest .

I'm making (or trying to) the point that moaning about sometimes not getting the government that a particular sub-section have voted for is not a case for carving-up a country.

We're not carving up a country. We're considering our country leaving a union of countries.

Salmond plans to keep the monarchy along with the pound which is controlled by the Bank of England which answers to the (Tory) government.
I think the monarchy is irrelevant compared to keeping the pound.

The Monarchy is indeed an irrelevance whether in the union or not.

A monetary union (keeping the pound) is beneficial to all. However, I am not in favour of that. If we go independent then our own currency (call it a pound if ye want) is a requirement.

Westminster threatens us that we can't have monetary union. Apparently monetary union is a great thing except with Europe where monetary union is extremely bad <laugh>

The monarchy may be irrelevant to you, not to me. It's everything that's wrong with the UK.

This is where I disagree with you. The Monarchy have **** all to do with anything about anything. They're an historical sideshow act. If an independent Scotland chooses to keep them as decoration I couldny care less. It disny seem to hurt Australia or Canada.

Our currency will be the pound . We may even have shillings and pence .

It's our currency too you know .

You forgot Cornwall. They're gagging for independence from England.

When they come up here on their jollies we shall take them hostage and demand the BBC return our telly channels.
