I'd imagine Washington and Colorado are finding tourism picking up recently.

I'm sorry but I'm currently trying to think of the best possible people for this weird website thing.

Take a look if you can... http://www.singitkitty.co.uk/play/Nyy7c

Post your own if you come up with a good one.

Did you go to the top of the Rock? Hell of a view up there. A cool restaurant is Bubba Gump's. It's meant to be the shrimp restaurant Bubba from Forrest Gump opens up. I had a bucket of seafood. Yes, a bucket. With lobster in it, among other things.

NY is OK but Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Madrid, Bruges, Vienna and Rome are each at least ten times better than NY for a city break. The food is better in all of them too. The best thing about NY was having breakfast in a Diner otherwise it was nothing special.

I did NY, Niagara, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington on a whistle stop tour, finishing with 2 more days in NY. Niagara Falls were impressive by helicopter, but the place was a bit like Blackpool. Other than that, loved all of it. Philadelphia has wonderful old buildings (not necessarily interesting for you, I know). Baltimore harbour is attractive with good restaurants. Washington was great...visited Arlington...sounds strange to visit a graveyard, but very moving. Really enjoyed NY...Central Park, art deco buildings...9/11 area is a must see...this was a few years ago, so it has probably been restored more now, but no one could fail to be affected by the fenced off area of rubble that I saw. There is a small historic church that escaped damage filled with gifts from abroad, including messages from school children world wide. The British gave them a copy of the Liberty Bell which is in the garden there. America is a wonderful place to visit but don't underestimate the distances involved.

See Tomlinson of One Direction played for Darlington reserves yesterday with all money from the 5,600 crowd going to a hospice he is patron of...good on him.

We didn't no, we only did a bit of Central Park. We entered the park near the zoo. I'd like to go to NY again, even though I've been there before, I'd like to do some of the things that we didn't do last time, so explore a bit more of central park, see the statue of liberty, visit statten island, etc. I've heard about Bubba Gump's, my parents went to one when they were on holiday, think it was in Carolina though rather than NY.

In other news, references received, payment er, paid.... application sent, now to play the waiting game.

We took the trip to Niagara from NY...about an inch on the map...actually a 7 hour drive. I liked the Canadians and the falls were great, especially when lit at night. Didn't realise that the US and Canada were at war into the 20th century!?! You will enjoy your trip...huge country with great sights. Remember to tip well in America or their wide welcoming smiles will disappear very rapidly. Also the food looks better than it tastes.

I love New York - it's a bit of a marmite city, but I think it's wonderful. It feels like you're in a movie the whole time you're there. I'd tend to agree with your list though Godders, though I'm not a fan of Amsterdam.....the rest are lovely. Rome especially.

Lisbon is my favourite city...nearby Belem and Sintra are wonderful. Thinking of going to the seaside resort of Cascais soon. The Portuguese are lovely.

My son has had no problems with Netflix. I have because I've had to pay extra for internet usage when I never have before, but that's another story.

I cancelled by subsription to Netflix back in December, because I realised after about a few months you have seen everything they have to offer. So I had a month free, then two months paid, at 5.99 a month.

Today I realised that my account has infact still be active this whole time, so I contact them online to try and reimburse the last three months (it's pre pay so for the months of Jan, Feb and March, about 18 quid).

They give me 5.99 back but say they can't reimburse the rest because it was my fault (lies).

HOWEVER, while i'm investigating, I notice that for the months of November and December, they had infact charged me double each month, so that's another 12 quid I'm down. I'm told I have to call customer service as they can't look into it online.

So I call customer service, which is in AMERICA, at the coast of 14p a min, obviously I'm on hold for at least 5 min, before getting through to someone who just repeats everything I say to her back to me in a ridiculous accent, finally takes my email address (which I have to spell out letter by letter because she isn't understanding English), tells me to hold on while she looks into it, then hangs up on me.

I've decided to cut my losses.

If you don't mind supporting Amazon, Lovefilm is pretty good. And it's got Vikings on it (Season 2 out tomorrow).

Amazon are funding the third series of Ripper Street after the BBC cancelled. Will be shown first on Amazon's own channel, then on the BBC.

My dad used to live in Cascais. You're absolutely right Fran, it's lovely. Sintra, Monte Estoril, all the destinations up that coast are great.

The Statue of Liberty was a great day out actually. Good boat ride, nice island and a lot of history involved. One of the parts of NYC that didn't underwhelm, unlike Times Square and the Empire State Building.

I'd say it feels more like an advert!

Amsterdam I loved. One of my favourites.
