The meltdowns around every loss/disappointing result, fallout from the cup exit etc. No point coming on after a loss with how some people react - general tone seems to be more bitchy than usual anyway. Might just be my perceptions but I've personally found little to post frequently recently :(

What makes me laugh is how we've had those who moan excessively after a defeat, those who are fed up with the moaners, and now people who moan about the people who are fed up with the moaners! Not sure why, as apparently the rest of this season is utterly pointless now anyway, and we may as well just all fall into comas and wake up in August.

I'll try and come up with a good concept for a cheerier thread this weekend, perhaps. Undoubtedly I'll get people like Godders and PTF telling me there's something wrong with it, but hopefully those who aren't completely joyless will come out of hiding and cheer the place up a tad.

Our team doesn't have personality transplants for each game. We have a bunch of super lads who desperately want to do well...sometimes they will win and sometimes they won't. Everyone can have an opinion about tactics, managerial decisions and referees performance, but the thing I don't like is when they turn on players. A player may be unlucky or have an off day, but I will never accept that the team we have watched for the last couple of years suddenly doesn't care and weren't bothered.

Moaning about moaners is the right slot to be in, I think. Being positive in a negative way, perfect.

That'd be nice, but it'll be a hell of a challenge to find something that won't either result in people being a pain in the arse and disagreeing with everything anyone says, or other people dissecting the meaning of a phrase used informally like "most optimal". Oh yeah, and don't mention Wanyama or Cork.

"Wanyama v Cork" thread coming right up! And I'll post it right after tomorrow's game for most optimal effectiveness.

<laugh> Although there really is no need, as every Team for Saturday/ Saints vs. / Player Ratings thread descends into Wanyama vs Cork anyway!

Isn't moaning about moaners worse? If we lose/ draw/ don't play well, people will moan. If Wanyama misplaces at least one pass in a game, people will moan. It's going to happen and there's no getting away from it, but isn't the best thing to do if you don't like it to ignore it?

No way, man. We gotta fight. When those miserable bastards stood in opposition to our off-topic chat, we fought them and we got our own off-topic thread. We tasted victory, man. They showed their weakness and now the smell of their blood sticks in my nostrils. We will take it all from them.

That's hilarious DTLW. I think the guy author of the letter is an anglophile because of the refferences to Allo Allo and also Maggie Thatcher and Liverpool?

And the use of the word "bugger". Though I think British comedies are rather popular among Germans anyway.

I had a spell of cold turkey. I did take myself away from the forum for a while. It was needed.

TSS was feeling a bit under the weather a few days ago, so that's probably why he's not been around, I'm sure he won't mind me saying as you are all missing him.

From a decent position, England now letting the WI escape. Bowling wide after wide. 219-5 after 46.5 overs.

Really poor captaincy from Broad. Didn't bowl Stokes or Bopara at all and used Root in the death overs. And Broad himself over bowled 6 overs. Baffling.

I don't think you can compare social media to the real world. I think it's more like when people re-tweet or post links to something Katie Hopkins and say "look at this evil bitch, what she's saying is wrong", when instead they should just ignore it. Commenting on it, be it positive or negative, just draws attention to it.
