That wasn't the exact quote. He said there's nothing happening in that one yet. His tone did suggest we weren't interested in Ince at all though. but Sky seem to know something as they're reporting he's talking to us today. It sounds like it's up to the player. If we're in talks then surely we're interested and think we've got a chance.
I've never known a playing to whore himself about as much as Tom. I expect its got a fair bit to do with his dad who's just started a new job as a taxi driver, but it seems a rather strange touting himself at some many clubs, after all, he wants to come in & have fans behind right from the get go.
Transfer window: Thomas Ince set for Hull & Sunderland talks Blackpool winger Thomas Ince is expected to hold talks with Hull and Sunderland on Wednesday as he prepares to make a decision on his future. The England Under-21 international has been given permission by the Championship side to discuss a loan move with Premier League clubs. The 21-year-old met with Swansea City and Crystal Palace on Monday and held talks with Stoke City on Tuesday. Ince is approaching the end of his contract at Bloomfield Road. Speaking after Tuesday's 1-0 Premier League defeat at Crystal Palace, Hull manager Steve Bruce insisted he was not planning a move for the former Liverpool youngster. "There's nothing in that and we're not likely to do anything before Friday," Bruce told BBC Radio Humberside. Ince began his career at Anfield, making one substitute appearance in the League Cup before joining Blackpool in August 2011. He has scored 33 goals in 113 matches for the Seasiders and was the subject of January interest from the Reds last season, while he turned down a move to newly-promoted Cardiff in the summer for family reasons. And he has not featured in either of Blackpool's two matches since his father, Paul, was sacked as manager on 21 January. Blackpool lost 5-1 at Reading on Tuesday and are 15th in the Championship. No mention of yet. But I 100% believe he's going to talk to both clubs while in the north.
The sentiments are the same, playing the disinterested card while talks are under way. That way other clubs may believe there's less competition for the player and offer him less while Hull prepare an attractive offer. May work, probably not but it's worth a shot. No problem with it. Wish we played the media a bit better but we don't seem interested in using the media to help land our targets.
I don't doubt where you got it from but I think they've misquoted him slightly. I heard that interview with Radio Humberside and he definitely said 'yet'.
It'd be nice to have 2 options for both wings, of players in the side that actually run at defenders.... Elmo, Ince, Brady & Aluko would be nice options. Watched the Palace game on Match Choice and we're just far too static - no movement in midfield at all, and it's easy to defend against.
From what I've read, seems to me that young Ince is basically visiting a number of clubs to chat to the managers before making his mind up where he fancies going. Seems strange that, but also sensible, is this a common occurrence with players?
How do you know that? He might be a skinny latte kind of guy. Would we want someone who drinks skinny lattes? Would it matter? What if he demanded sprinkles?
Also no one is picking up on the "Before Friday". The transfer window ends Friday night, so unless Bruce has his days mixed up, he may be anticipating some final day business.
All seems a bit strange. He quotes wanting out of Blackpool has his dad was fired from his job; Blackpool as ever chase the money on offer for a loan until the end of his season when his contract expires, then at face value he's off to Monaco!!!
