Talk of Cabaye and Santon to Arsenal for a combined price of £30 million, this would be very good business. Got to invest wisely in the team though.

I can't see them still wanting him (with Ozil, Arteta, Cazorla, Wilshire, Ramsey, Rosicky, Flamini plus the likes of Walcott, Chamberlain, etc).
Also can't see them going for Santon.

They might surprise me, but I just don't see this one going through.

In other transfer news former Mag (briefly) Marlon Harewood has joined Hartlepool - will Jeff be happy?

Didn't think it merited a separate thread - do we need to create a special Transfer Window thread? (just kidding ACS! <smooch> :) )

Seems a lot of Norwich supporters don't want him.

Underwhelmed is probably closer to the mark, particularly at £3m. From the little I've seen/heard about Guttierrez, he's not better than our current first choice winger Pilkington, but Pilks can't manage a full season without injury, and is out of contract this summer, so I can see the point in cover.

On our board we're hearing reports of a six month loan with an option to buy in the summer, which to me sounds more realistic. Pilkington going would leave us without a left winger over the age of 20, and whilst we're keen to blood Redmond and the Murphy's, they're not ready to play each week, so an experienced alternative would be useful. Equally if Pilkington stays I don't know how many players we'll want standing between the youngsters and the first team, so might not take the option on Guttierrez.

As to wages, the last figures I can see (from 09) have him on £50k p/w? There's no way in hell we could afford to pay him that and it'd smash our current wage structure, so I imagine we'd pay around half.

Be funny if we played him down at your place on Tue 28.01. and he had a blinder and got a hat trick.

Might make the powers that be a bit more interested in him. Of course CH will no doubt know him well.

Bloody hell, what kind of odds would you get for that?? With a £5 bet I'd hopefully be able to move to the Caribbean.

SSN's journos really are useless, lazy gits. Maybe they should check the league table...

"The Argentina international was brought to Tyneside when Chris Hughton was Newcastle's first-team coach and the two look set to be reunited at Carrow Road, as Hughton attempts to bolster his squad in order to boosts his side's promotion hopes."

Jelavic to Hull. Does that mean they'll drop their interet in Shane Long? If so, I'd like to us us go in for him.

if our dealings consisted of this then I'd be over the moon:

Out
Jonas
Cisse
Obertan

In
De Jong
Long

Don't think Jonas is quite that good.

Don't think there's many of us that wouldn't be.

when Jonas first came to us he was a real handful tricky as hell etc ..can remember his first game at otrafford he had vidic etc chase shadows ..

unfortunately he was converted to a full back for a couple of seasons ..which then took away his best game attack ..

super player in my eyes neat and tidy and skilful ..okay he wernt the best crosser in the world .. but he was a dam good footballer .. he is older now ..but was a argentina full international

respect to man ... I wish him luck..

We're not down just yet! Must mean he'll push us towards the Champion's League. <whistle>

Loan deal confirmed, not sure if we've got an option on him at the end of the season or not yet. Cheers guys!
