I think the word that epitomises Jonas for me at NUFC is honest.

By all accounts he's been a good, honest, hardworking servant in the best sense. Not always the best in terms of end product as most have said but I think he genuinely cared for the shirt.

He's certainly in that sort of 'cult' bracket as a player, a bit like Solano in his affections for the club although Nobby was a far better player.
Jonas will though be remembered more fondly than the likes of fellow South American imports Bassedas and Acuna for his footballing abilities I'm sure.

One of the great things we gloss over about the influx of foreigners in the English game is the permanent link it at least forges with diverse people, families, cultures and cities.
Links that wouldn't always happen in other trades or for people of certain classes, so it's when you can remember guys like Jonas who embraced this in a positive way forever really.

Also, I'm right in remembering him as a Keegan signing? Perhaps one of his last ever for the club, who knows?

Cheers for the memories though Spiderman and good luck! We didn't see that mask nearly enough...

Top bloke and always put a shift in. Loyal enough to to stick around when things got low. Wish him all the best.

Totally agree with you. Jonas was a really good servant for the club. Saw him about town once or twice and came across a great guy too.

Officially he is contracted with us until June 2015, so presumably there will be some kind of transfer fee involved that will probably sneak into the back pockets, not to be seen again.

£3 million apparently.

That's not a bad price to be honest. Probably a decent deal for us. He'll be approaching 30 by the end of the season and by then would have just 1 year left on his contract. Seems like a good time to cash in, seeing as we've coped without him all season.

Love the lad and he's been loyal, so I wish all the very best. But this deal sounds like the best outcome.

That's not so good then. Presumably Norwich pay his wages while he's on loan, but that doesn't help us so much.

I almost soiled myself when I saw £3 million being reported <laugh>

If we got £3 million for Jonas, and £9 million for Cisse, I'm sorry, but Mike deserves a knighthood.
