We sadly do need a game changer in the side it is true.......Again Sadly Rickies peak was while we were in the lower divisions....Surely it is to be expected moving up a level and against far better defenders, not being the quickest, it is bound to take a toll.
By now though I would have thought they would have someone in place ready to take over. Osvaldo is not a Ricky Lambert....Ramirez is not a game changer. All have good ability but are not showing what is needed. Jay Rod is also not a Rickie Lambert a different player all together. Good ability and is coming on nicely but just not good on his own.

As for whether Rickie said or didn't say anything about Jos or any other player it would have been said out of Frustration it just goes to show that we are not the only ones to be frustrated.
As others have said there is no doubt the first goal against Spurs knocked the stuffing out of Saints for a while and when they got back into the game it must have been draining to concede the third in the way it was conceded.

I can see many of you have never played football at any level going by this "shock" reaction to something said on the pitch that was very mild compared to what I've heard & experienced.

And why so many still take any notice of the censored dumbed down drivel that footballers come out with in pre/post match interviews, is quite laughable.

CBK you old scrooge you are.... lol..... people can find this shocking as much as you dont find it shocking. There is a massive difference between the game at this level and yes youd expect the drivel at lower league/sunday league but rarely you see this at the top

Having seen it now, I think you're right, it is clearly directed at Lallana. Still not exactly ideal, but not as much of an issue as I'd been led to believe.

Lovren also had a word with Lallana after his goal, pointing out something on the left wing (or maybe the bench), so perhaps it's a regular thing for him, as captain, to be a point of contact for all the players.

Lovren was given some direction from the bench directly after the Lallana goal which he then went over to Adam and Rickie to impart. Rickie then started dropping deeper.

Yeah, not really much of a problem at all to me if he said it only to Lallana, you can hardly blame him. Think it does demonstrate how much having a shaky defence can lower the whole team's confidence though, Rickie was probably a bit annoyed at his own performance anyway but clearly looks gutted watching what was going on at the back.

Does it appear to you that Rickie had figured out that Jos had totally lost confidence after yet another OG, his mind simply was not on the job and that isn't surprising, I am sure with the benefit of hindsight, Maya could have at least replaced him and would proabably done better, but it didn't happen and it's no good going on about it, move on.

Think that is what happened. Everybody could see Jos lost totally his confidence after his OG (AND after the shouting off people who wanted Fonte on the pitch - by which your confidence is never coming back)) that he had to be protected against his own play. Think that is what Rickie meant to say. Read on an other forum that Fonte had done a warming up after 20 minites in the 2d halve but told he could not play. I am wondering if he could not play for 30 minutes, can he play thursday for 90??

I am wondering why it is Jos thats these **** things happens. Not because he cannot play football, because he can. I am afraid he wants to take too much responcibility and is always trying to avoid goals and other error and is always supporting other players.
Perhaps that is his problem. Sometimes it is better to let other players solve their problems.
For example: saw in the second halve a ball crossing in front of the goal and Lovren made a sliding to get to that ball. At the very last moment you can see he is lifting his leg and missing that ball. Fortunately the opponent also did not get that ball correctly and so no goal. I am sure Jos would have touched that ball to prevent the opponent to get to that ball. And such an action has also a lot of risk in it. Don't know what is better. Do know ( and a lot of you who are playing footbaal also know) that it is very easy to point at other people .........

That`s correct. For both the first and third goals Fox didn`t get goal side, or in a position to challenge. Made that twat Adebayor look good !

Fox is obviously somewhat culpable as well but whatever. The first goal is largely Gazza's fault for me. Adebayor made contact with the ball about chest height 3-4 yards from goal and there's no way the keeper should be letting the ball reach him there. On the third, Fox was partly responsible but Hooiveld was the man who got nutmegged and left for dead, you can't absolve him from all responsibility.

At the first goal the opponent got lots of time (i think it was from Loovren) to give a (perfect) ball into the box. Jos has his eyes towards the ball coming from the left. looks to the right on the moment he knew he could not reach that ball and is (i think) relying on the GK to just catch that ball. Also think Fox should take care to come in between ball and opponent.
Third goal you can see there are two or even three Southampton players just watching the ball and making no action at all (and we are playing in the box...). Jos steps forward trying to punch the ball out of the box, is hitting i think Jay's leg and the ball is bounching right in front of Adebayor who at that moment was left alone (by Jos).....OK, left alone because Jos made an attempt to clear that ball but therefore also his fault? Or can we perhaps also conclude that the other players where just looking around and nobody of them took any responsebility to kick that ball out of the box....
