I can see both points here, from Tots and the opposition!!

Ekotto is better then Naughton, Fryers and I personally think he's better then Rose but Rose has surprised some of us and Tots was right that he deserves a chance.

However Ekotto is being elevated to super star status based, ahead of his actual ability as while he would improve us, he did make mistakes, quite a few and isn't as great as some make out.

Redknapp is a big Ekotto fan and is talking him up, yet that's Harry being Harry and he's going to talk up players like Benny as if QPR go up he would sign him as he's premier league quality.

If I'm being Honest I used to view Ekotto as being a liability, even in our 4411 team as while he had good qualities, he did switch off and was over praised due to being a cult figure.

But let's not forget according to a source this board trusts, Ekotto and Adebayor where playing a game to see who could get the most club fines, if true, then they sealed their own fate.

If that happened at Utd under Fergie they would be kicked out, why should Avb be any different? Avb made the right call if true, as by their actions they had zero respect for the manager.

Boss, I think using the word 'game' was a figure of speech rather than imply some sort of an actual scorecard between them. Both were incurring fines for different reasons, well different as in each player, BAE racked up his fines for the same thing.

Ah ok, I read that differenty but the discussion back then between a few was that they where trying to see how many fines they could occur and had no respect for AVB's management. It's the type of behaviour I would expect from Adebayor and Ekotto but if I got that wrong then my mistake!

You're right on that point...there's still no respect.

So in reality they still had no place at the club, as good pros shouldn't be getting numerous fines, especially when there is a lack of respect towards the manager.

Be interesting to know what the fines where for, as if most where frivolous and both players acting with no respect then even with Avb being a poor man manager, I'll back him on that call.

Sherwood I take it isn't an improvement for these players either! But anyway Ekotto and Adebayor aren't saviours or going to bring back the good times. That was more about who was our manager back then.

Thought you knew Benny's, he repeatedly met the the team in the pre match Hotel reception, refusing to drive to Enfield to meet the team, didn't just do it once. Ade's were mostly for not reporting back after Internationals, you remember all that crap about missing flights don't you?

For Benny, this comes down to the manner the request to drive to Enfield was put. I'm guessing, but you'd imagine avb was probably abrupt, a smiley arm round approach may have been different. Just summising here, but it seems a pretty lame reason to fall out over, I think more words were involved perhaps.

Jeez,, that is childish, and yes a lame reason to fall out yet all benny had to do was follow team instructions, why is he immune? I know Avb is a crap man manager and probaly could have sorted the situation differently yet if Benny was going out of his way to be difficult then what do others expect?

If I was manager I wouldn't be putting my arm around someone who is acting a twat, just because hes a favourite with the fans.

Benny and Ade aren't at the club for their own behaviour and Avb who i(we) criticised on numerous occasions still has to make a call and can't be seen to be soft, even for lame reasons. Especially Adebayor who last year was crap on the pitch unless we played Arsenal or Chelsea, why do people want him at the club when he only shows up in big games and then goes back to his usual self of doing nothing all game.

    Exactly.

As far as the photo goes, I never thought they were holding their fingers up for the score. If what Ade said is true and the photo was taken pre-match then fair enough it's only Benny that is to blame as he posted it up after the game with the caption about it being a "great game"(or whatever it was).

I think I said this awhile back but as far as I'm concerned they shouldn't be allowed back into the fold unless they apologise to their teammates and coaches as it's them they've been disrespecting most and them they've got to be able to work with in future.

'What a game tonight....happy to see my man @E_Adebayor (LOL)'.

Which in itself is taking the piss and shows his childish nature. I'm all for players having a laugh and not taking life too serious and having a joke now and then as all clubs need that light hearted side to lift mood, yet that wasn't a joke, it was him being a twat and allowing his issue with Avb to go one step further and disrespect the club/fans.

I've just realised we agree! <yikes> Maybe now AVB's gone we'll start agreeing on everything, even prediction league gueses.

I'm going for a conservative 3-0 with a hattrick from you know who ;)

Whenever I've seen a BAE tweet it's seemed like there maybe something lost in translation. I wonder if his use of the word "great" here might be an example. And he seems to put "lol" at the end of EVERY tweet.

I think the new manager might want to have a gentle word about sensible use of social media. And to be fair BAE has used it in a fairly positive way re Spurs for the most part as far as I can tell.

Smiley arm round approach is a terrible description, its not what I meant really, I'm trying to say a friendly request. If he'd done his homework he would have known it was a bone of contention previously, and if he'd asked or said in the right way why he wanted this procedure followed the players may have responded as they should. Its man management, getting players to respond positively, avb failed to do this. He's obviously responded negatively in any discussion with Benny.

Btw, Benny lives round the corner from the Hotel, and I do mean round the corner, its walking distance.

Doesn't Benny prefer to use the tube than drive? I seem to remember him saying that in an interview. I wouldn't fancy getting to Enfield by public transport.

Lol don't worry Notso I know what you meant but in football that saying about an arm round a player is used often, in the sense some players need to be treated differently, so I get your point re Benny.

Obviously I'm not aware of exactly how Avb approached Benny, but I can guess even without any hints as Avb isn't exactly the easiest person to deal with.

I can also see Lennys point re Ekotto but I also think Ekotto plays on this 'easy going' image he has and knew by posting that picture at the time he did wasn't the right thing to do, yet he went ahead anyway.
