http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...-adebayor-assou-ekotto-pose-for-picture-after What are they doing? Taking the piss holding 5 fingers up between them???
Very poor taste indeed. Before this photo, I would have taken BAE back at the club in a heartbeat but that shows no class at all. I saw this on his twitter account yesterday too so its genuine.
This has been posted on various threads, but I think it bears discussing. It shows why Villas-Boas sidelined the pair of them really, doesn't it? Disrespectful to the manager, which was the point, but also to the fans, the club and their teammates. How are the players who'd just been humiliated going to feel about it? Pretty pissed off, I'd imagine.
Me too flaspur, again I'm amazed we were/are going into the TW in Jan looking for a LB. Our LB debacle this season has been totally manager inflicted. Had a stupid point of contention been resolved in adult manner instead of escalating into an uneccessary biggie, BAE wouldn't be at qpr, JV would be playing CB, and Roses injury wouldn't be so damaging. These are things that have gone against avb, these off field decisions are just as bad as the onfield ones.
Assou-Ekotto posted on Twitter again, today: Benoit Assou-Ekotto ‏@AssouEkotto 3h What a good monday!Massage bike gym! And now on my way bk with this song in my car i love it http://youtu.be/y6Sxv-sUYtM hv a good monday too LOL The Youtube link is this: Subtle, Benny. Real subtle.
It was also ever so slightly Factitious Madrid inflicted - Coentrao kept stalling, then at the last minute they tried to loan him to Man Utd instead. However, not having a backup plan in case Coentrao didn't work out was pretty damn stupid.
For all his alleged fall-out with AVB, Benny has never previously dissed the club publicly as far as I am aware, so I find this tweeted picture (with no other detail or comment) rather surprising. He may not be to everyones taste but he has shown a great deal of loyalty to the club over several years now: the local community engagement post-Riots and positive tweeted comments etc even after his exile to QPR being a couple of examples. With the departure of AVB, I would be inclined to see what background detail - or if necessary, apology - comes out before we crucify him. Might be in the minority, but I reckon his loss over the past few months cannot be over-estimated. It will be interesting to see what view the club and new management team take regarding Benny. His speedy return would also be somewhat damning of the 'exiting coach'. (And by that I don't mean getting off the coach from Enfield to the city!! Lol)
I know that it may not be correct, but I am fairly sure that the photo of Benny & Ade was posted before the game even kicked off. The no of fingers being held up and the smiles on their faces are an unfortunate coincidence.
I saw this picture this morning and i'm disgusted by the carry on of these two mercenaries. Regardless of their run in with the manager they should at least show respect to the club. The pair of them can f**k off as far as i'm concerned. Their "team" has just lost 5 nil and they don't give a rats ass. And Benny tweeting that he's happy because the manager got the sack. He should grow up. I'd expect nothing better from Adebayor, that man is a waste of space. Sad behaviour from grown men.
My understanding is that a summer sale of BAE fell thru due to "medical" reasons. By which I assume meant lack of finess. I also assume his loan stint has got his fitness back right up there again. If those other clubs in France are still interested, with the next transfer window imminent, recall him and sell him to them.
Nope. Posted almost instantly after the game. Currently down as 23h on his Twitter feed, so roughly 6pm yesterday.
Yep. AVB might have got things wrong on the pitch but he wasn't wrong about them, they're acting like a couple of naughty kids and I'd sooner see them sold than in a Spurs shirt again.
Whatever surrounded that, we should not have been looking for a LB last window in the first place is my point hbic, this spat with Benny was way before that during last season. BAE and Rose are two more than adequate PL LB's, on paper planning for a season with Naughton and JV on the books there's plans B,C,and bloody D.....why are we in this **** at LB, it should more than covered.
I posted on this very subject, on another thread. Disgraceful behaviour. The first sign of weakness any new manager could show is by permitting either of these two twats back into the squad. I want them gone asap.
To play a bit of devil's advocate there are other pictures of those 2 doing the same hand gestures when we haven't been beaten 5-0. "What a game" can be read as "what an amazing game" or "oi, what a game". Cut them some slack and don't hang them without a trial.
Wasn't BAE known for generally not being passionate about Football, treating it just like a regular job, not having much to do with it once his "shift" is done? In that aspect it would make sense that he just enjoyed the best game of football (for the neutral) at the WHL in quite a while.
Wise words , but a waste of time applying any sort of reasonableness to this almost 'lynch mob' mentality.......
