But, I'm not sure the job is big enough that you're going to get managers falling over themselves to break existing contracts.

I think our club is currently one of the best run in the PL.
not spending beyond our means and in a decent financial situ compared to what we were in.
Just seeing a lot of threads saying how you should get Laudrup, Potechino, Capello, Klinsman etc...
What makes you think any of these managers would actually want the job ??
You have just sacked your best manager in 10 years, sell your best players and your chairman is obviously not very good.
I have always said that i dont think spurs are a big club and that they will never be successful as they make bad decisions over and over again.
If you actually looked at your squad and realises that your club have WASTED the £100 million you got for Bale you should surely be looking to get rid of the chairman???

Your own owner has slagged off your biggest ever buy to the media over the weekend!
Spot on post. Levy is the root problem.
Geordie fan in peace.
In relation to the recent deemed results that appear to have been AVB demise.
0-1 NUFC - Your team battered ours and on another day it could have been 5-1 to you but not for Krul.
6-0 Man City - They are thrashing most teams at the Etihad. Although on the high side, it was a bad result.
2-2 Man Utd - Good result. But not if you want to win the league.
2-1 Fulham - Good result, performance average but still 3 points.
2-1 Sunderland - Good result, performance average but still 3 points.
0-5 Liverpool - Bad performance not helped by the sending off. But on another day it may have been a yellow card.
In essence the run of form was average to poor but not awful. I think AVB given time would have done a good job but I realistically dont see anyone else coming in and doing that much better.
His tactics maybe not quite right in some games, possibly.
Did he actually sign the players or did the board.
Being a toon fan we go through our fair share of ****, our club is ran by a clown in the footballing sense of the word (ironically he is a spuds fan apparently) but on a financial front he is the man. We have a puppet in charge who 6 weeks ago we wouldnt have been surprised if he had been sacked... but this brings me on to my main point.
Expectations:
The board stuck by Pardew and look at our recent form.
The sacking of AVB is nothing more than pressing the panic button, making him the scapegoat to give someone else 6-12 months to see if they can break the top 4.
We as toon fans have been in the past deemed delusional for expecting to be higher up the table, challenging for honours when in fact all we are really interested in is a good game of entertaining football.
What realistically can be your expectations. People have stated in this thread the big four teams. Liverpool look strong and so do Everton. We wont be amongst it and realistically I think your expectations should have been challenging for top 4. More than plausable right now. You are only 5 points away.
Any bananna, my last point will be. I would like to place on record that I dont care which manager you get in right now you will be in the top 7 by the end of the season.
Did you fall and bang your head, DL?

I'm no fan of AVB and wasn't a fan of Redknapp but if people can't see that Levy is the root problem then this is just a rat race for Spurs.
This is all on Levy, and IMO he should resign.
Many of us saw it years ago, yes he should, but he is not man enough .
He puts himself and his ego before the club. Exactly what the media have (wrongly, IMO) accused Abramovich and Wenger of doing in the past.
When you spend massive money comes expectation. Rightly or wrongly. Most managers are begging for money to spend, AVB spent 100 million so has to take the rough with the smooth. And the early season performances were also poor but a good defence papered over the cracks.

The defence didn't really get tested in that run of games, but when it did the signs were there.**** me ... a hammer slating us for being badly run?????

I thought this myself.
They have the cheek to look down their nose at us for no good reason.
Reality hit yesterday unfortunately.
