Just seeing a lot of threads saying how you should get Laudrup, Potechino, Capello, Klinsman etc... What makes you think any of these managers would actually want the job ?? You have just sacked your best manager in 10 years, sell your best players and your chairman is obviously not very good. I have always said that i dont think spurs are a big club and that they will never be successful as they make bad decisions over and over again. If you actually looked at your squad and realises that your club have WASTED the £100 million you got for Bale you should surely be looking to get rid of the chairman???
I used to be shouted down constantly on the old 606 saying you were a poorly run club and i was always told how much of a great chairman Levy is.
It's not just us sayiing it, it's the bookies too. Fact is it's attractive job for a lot of managers. Chelsea sack managers regularly and can still attract managers so I don't think coaches are all that put off by who the chairman is and whether they'll get a long time to turn things around.
Firstly, welcome to our board. Because it is a good one. We are still reasonably well placed in the league, still in Europe, still in the League cup and have a talented, but underperforming squad. Statistics can say a lot of things, he has one of the best PPG ratios yes, but also the best squad. He was supposed to improve on what Harry achieved and has not. He has followed on from the worst away defeat in 17 years, with the worst home defeat in 16 years, had us playing boring football and repeatedly played the high line and inverted wingers which everyone can see is holding us back. This is your opinion, and you are welcome to express it. Many would not disagree with you I feel. If you look at our squad you would see it is actually very good, but our lack of organisation on the pitch, high line, inverted wingers and lack of freedom have been holding our players back. A complete inability to score, whilst shipping 6 goals to city, 5 to pool and 3 to WHAM without reply have lead to AVB's sacking. You can say what you want about the fee's, maybe 56m was too much for Soldado and Lamela, but we had to sign replacements and we have been struggling for years to identify the right striker to take us forwards. I genuinely believe that Soldado will come good if Andros, Eriksen, Lennon, Chadli, Lamela and Holtby start learning to provide him with chances, and Ade and Defoe are more than good enough to back him up.
I've always liked Spurs and I wish them well but it does appear that the Bale money has been squandered. Allowing it to be spent by someone other than the Manager on a whole raft of new players is a disaster waiting to happen. Whoever allowed these poor decisions to be made at Board level should be put up against the wall and shot. I feel for the Spurs fans, I really do.
You obviously haven't been reading our board - most people on here are fully aware Klinsmann has stated he won't be leaving the USA anytime soon (plus he has a World Cup to prepare for) whilst Capello is hardly being mentioned at all. But apparently we're "arrogant", sort of like how we're "anti-Semitic" - if someone says it loud enough often enough, some boneheads will believe it.
Just for those who are unfamiliar with TJ and his running obsession with Spurs, here's a little glimpse into his world: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A55778773 That thread ran for nearly two years and virtually every one of his predictions of doom saw us push onwards and upwards. He was like a good luck charm. Immune to the irony of his own posts, he's back for more. Ah well, TJ. You can't say that I didn't warn you. Usual rules apply though, so no abuse or insults to the OP, please.
Its economics. We are not run by a shoddy pair of porn merchants who are out of their depth. We pay well and even in our quiet years, our managers have more to spend on players than you. Also we are not going to be relegated any time soon. AVB was sacked because he could not get the talent we have bought to perform. Much like fat Sam can't with your bunch of no-hopers. Right now I would be more concerned with being promoted in time to move into your new stadium.
Arrogant....have you picked up that word from yourselves? the club that thinks its going to fill Stratford....in the championship!!
West Ham have more serious issues than us, i suggest you come up with ways out of your own predicament before moving onto the big boys
Question for the OP why is it arrogance to suggest the bookies favorites as candidates, also it would be a step for Laudrup and possibly even Pochettino.
The 100 million looks poorly spent because the team are playing badly but it can take a season at least for many top players to bed in. Bergkamp, Drogba etc took time to adjust and were 2 of the best P.L players ever. Spurs will be an attractive job because they have a young promising squad and they are a top 6/7 premier league club. But, I'm not sure the job is big enough that you're going to get managers falling over themselves to break existing contracts.
