Nothing WUMMY in my reply, chum. We're 15 games in with 23 to go and have a cup quarter final to boot. Plenty of games to right the ship, we still have dreams of Wembley & we've already won the first derby. There's no doubt we're having a bad season, but it ain't all bad yet. Meanwhile, you're on a run of form that has reflated the usual mag smug feeling of superiority. But your back-up players are nothing like as good as your first team and Cabaye is making noises about a move. Krul is also being eyed up by a number of clubs, so don't get counting your chickens just yet. And if your fear of losing the derby has gone, spare us any gloating when you next win one, eh?
It's rather easy to make perfectly logical arguments for and against both sides Sid, however I feel you're missing a rather salient point in this " us and them argument " and that's you're sh*te and we're not.
I know Sid, it's just at the present your lads are showing a superior level of sh*teness, which to be fair is not to be sniffed at ...
"It's my belief that history is a wheel. Inconstancy is my very essence -says the wheel- Rise up on my spokes if you like, but don't complain when you are cast back down into the depths. Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it is also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away."
I love it when Mags pretend they're not bothered about being beaten in the derbies ........... I always hate to lose those games.
Any Mag who says he/she isn't bothered about being beaten in the derbies is either a liar or not a Mag. It hurts like hell when you lose them and it feels great when you win them, that's what the derbies are all about. That said the measure of who is the better side over a season has to be reflected by the finishing position at the end of the season, forget what happened in the derbies.
Thing is, no one remembers any of that ........ people remember the derby results. Weirdly, if Newcastle finish above us, we avoid relegation and win both derbies we'll be happier .......... if we avoid relegation and win a cup you'd be suicidal
If you win a cup, avoid relegation on 17 points and DJ Campbell is spotted driving Gus round Pennywell in an open topped Bently then I'd head the f*cking enquiry...
They won something once, can't remember what it was though, something like the Airfix stick it together cup or something similar..
