Its far too soon for our players. At this point in 2008 we were setting the league alight with the likes of Ashbee, and Dawson, yet they never received call ups either.

If Davies and Thudd continue their form, I'm sure a call up wont be too far away.

Huddlestone and Livermore have plenty of time yet. Keep their performances up, and the chance will come.

Can't believe guys like Smalling and Jones are in the squad over Davies.

FFS! Just be happy they play for City.

They've played 10 matches for a new club. It has taken the Southampton players a season and a bit to get in the team. If they keep their performances up then they'll be rewarded.

    Stop whinging.

And another thing, these friendlies will be used as an indicator of how well we'll do in the World Cup, against two sides we might come against, Hodgeson won't throw new players in at this point. He wants players he's worked with and knows.

We don't want them getting injured, its not all bad. I'm sure they will have a chance of making the world cup squad if they keep playing at the same level they have been

I'm glad to see Lallana in there - he deserves his chance

    Lallana is finally in.

I think Huddlestone is your most deserving of a spot. But CM is a position that we're quite well off in at the moment.

However, I expect Lampard and Gerrard to both retire soon so he'll get his chance.

Nah Davies has been better than Huddlestone this year for me.

There is one England squad announcement that involves us.

Max Clarke has been called up to the U18's.

Is he actually much cop? He seems to be able to play in a couple of positions but there's been no word of contract talks\loan moves etc to further his development. A season too early?

Any, I like your posts and the respect you have given our team this season. Thank you for that.
But, unless you are going to the Hull matches (maybe you are) you cannot know who is most deserving of a spot.
Davies is by far the most deserving at the moment.
I would put Livermore ahead of Thud.
Tbf if Clerverley gets in, every Championship & Premiership player has a chance.

I'm basing it on television and MOTD appearances granted.

But I think Huddlestone has shown for a good few years that he's an excellent player whereas I think the others need to prove they're good enough on more than 10 games.

He plays left back, or left sided centre back and he is good, but I think he's only just 17.
