On one level, today was just one of those days when the home team just can't break through a packed defence. It's not CH's fault that the penalty was missed, which would have changed the whole game.

On the other hand, it may be his fault that we seem to create approximately one chance in each away game and therefore we never get any points away from home, so that winning this kind of match becomes crucial. We cannot afford simply to sacrifice the away games on the theory that we are good at Carrow Road. This year we will not beat MU, Arsenal and Everton at home.

We need a win at Stoke, to get back the points we lost here. The way we play away from home, and the last two games at the Britannia, make me think this is highly unlikely. We're in trouble.

and today at home we also managed just 1 shot on target. Certainly contenders for the lowest shot on target count this season me thinks.

it was also for the deflected crosses that nearly ended up as own goals and if the crosses had been an inch or two further from the defenders then open goal chances.

I agree clark played a blinder, no one seems to factor that in before their hysterical rants

Cant see anything other than 3 defeats out of our next 3 games, Stoke is away, so defeat there is pretty much given, then Chelsea and Arsenal. After those games we will be bottom of the league. I think Mcnally could do alot worse than having a word with Watford about Zola when we go there and probably lose this week. I jut dont think Hughton has enough about him to turn it around.

Probably one of a select few managers outside the PL that would be worthy of the job <ok>. I also pessimistically expect 4 straight defeats now, but then I did think that even before today <wah>

I would love to bring Zola here, but I don't think there's any chance.

I think everyone needs to calm down and realise the club is in transition, it's a work in progress, a change in philosophy.

I just wish people realised where the club is at this moment in time, the direction we're going, developing the team, making certain areas slightly better and others wholly worse.

We're moving from a free scoring attacking side and developing it to a team that fails to keep clean sheets and cannot score goals. To carry it out in full takes time and effort. He needs more time to complete the mission.

The plan is to get better more expensive players in and mould them into an incoherent unit that baffles all.

People REALLY should be careful what they wish for.

Welcome back <ok> I am sure one or two members will be over-joyed to see you posting following 2 defeats (they said you would) <laugh>

Yes, welcome back. I missed your acerbic posts.

Meanwhile, it doesn't get any better, does it?

I'm not staying, results have little bearing on my opinion of him.

It will slowly get worse and hopefully the people who matter will eventually see Hughton as the one concept fits all manager that he is.

As you know, I have shared most of your thoughts over his tenure, hence you never get an argument from me <laugh> I saw it coming when we lost to Luron in the FA Cup - everything about that day was wrong, wrong, wrong. That was the day I saw the light.

All im going to say you have a manager who mindset when in charge of a birmingham side coming to portman road against a club in turmoil with porno paul in charge, and he decides to park the bus and hope to score on the break.

Its his mindset, its always been in his mindset, always will be his mindset.
